SUZUKI 600 cc (what is wrong with them)

I have 2010 gsxr600. I love it. I am happy with my decision. I may not buy another gsxr600 because they are darn heavy for my short weak legs but that's only a problem for me! When I say it's heavy, I had 6' feet buddy try to back it up with both legs planted on both side of the bike had hard time pushing it backwards. Another friend who can only tippy toe it could back it up like it's nothing. Weight of the bike MAY be a factor for some but you can learn to live with it.
Do not let me discourage you, it's beautiful bike, a lot of pros swear that it's got the best motor and with good suspension and tires it'll be on par with the R6.

Back to the original thread. THERE ARE PROBLEMS with the GSXR's:

1) They do tend to be ticket magnets
2) They do attract an awful lot of easy females (hence me sig)

There's lots of first time riders who buy them, crash them and then sell them to unsuspecting first time riders. Never raced, never down.

Hey why you post a link to my for sale ad? You trying to say somethings wrong cause its priced low??

Anyways my previous 2004 gsxr 600 i sold at 45,000 km to my buddy, who took it up to almost 80,000 riding it like he stole it. he sold it to another guy and the bike is still running. only thing it ever needed was a cam chain tensioner and at higher km the svta went, 50 dollar fix.
my current 05 gsxr has had 0 problems and im buying the exact same bike, year, paint etc just a 750. Everything i love about the 600 but an additional 30 hp! |How can you go wrong?

I started with 2010 Gixxer600 and love it! I love the comfort level on this bike better than a CBR600 or R6

You'd be better off asking what isn't wrong with them.

Cons:
Not beginner friendly
Uncomfortable for longer rides
Sucks gas
4 cylinders worth of maintenance
Wind protection
Low weight allowance
No storage
Uncomfortable ergonomics
Low speed maneuverability
Higher on theft list
Reputation of riders
Suspension for road use
Trouble is a twist away
etc. etc. Ad nauseum.

The tank pushes your thighs out on a gixxer. Cbr by far most comfortable bike.

depends on your height, weight etc

ive ridden every sport bike out there and found the 04-05 gsxr 600/750 to be the most comfortable.

most people buy a bike for looks and then defend their purchase cause obvioously what they bought must be the best, i actually took the time to ride all the choices, and what fits me the best will not be the best for others.

GSXR 600 Heavy?... Learn to live with it?... What?...

Any modern 600cc sport bike isn't "heavy" buy any stretch of the imagination.

There is definitely some merit to this point. I also took out all the Japanese ss's before purchasing my RR, but to each his own. Everyone loves their own bike and so they should.

I started on a 07 gsxr600 and I've been told the low speed/rpm power is much tamer than an '00 R6 and '00 zx6r by my riding buddies who took it out for a spin. I have had no problems learning on it at all. It is a great bike so far.

it's true, i test rode a 09gsxr600 and it didn't have the "dig" that my 00zx6r has off the line or out of a corner. however, i would trade straight up with a dealer if they want to, lol.
nothing wrong with the bike's as far as i know, maybe just the girly graphic's on that 09 white gixxer, no thank's !

My track bike (07 gsxr 600) has 22,000km. I've only put 4 track days on it and the rectifier went (common problem) and the fronts too soft for 180lb rider on the track but it seems to haul *** after 10,000rpm brakes are awsome (I've heard complaints but I guess I got lucky) and it took me no time to get used to it from my zx10. You can't go wrong with any modern 600.

My wife has the 2010 GSXR750 (just picked it up this season). I really like the bike. Great power, handles like a dream, predictable and very linear. Considering the 600 is more or less the same bike I would believe it to be a great machine. Prices are very competitive on the GSXR but I do not believe that quality is less than any of the other bikes in the class.

As for the 600 being a beginner bike - well it is not positioned as a beginner bike - however I am sure that a beginner with discipline can safely ride this bike. The main downfall to beginning on this bike is that the cost of a fall is expensive.
