Suspicious 'too good to be true' bike ads

yup.. happened to my post on bike as well.. i got some dumbo messaging me they want to purchase my bike through wire transfer
 
Broken english and cultural discrepancies are also indicative of a scam. Some years back I was car hunting on kijiji and came across a too-good-to-be-true BMW but figured I'd msg the seller anyway. I got a poorly written response from someone claiming to be a divorcee who was awarded her husband's car by the courts. In addition to the shipping/payment scheme, her reason for selling so cheap: "...and because I am woman I have no use of car". I had to laugh at that.
 
That bike would be listed at a dealer for around 9000.It's either hot or the seller is high and i don't mean happy.Could be an x wife selling it to piss off and x husband.The vett in the garage makes it interesting.I would defenatly check it out with caution and run the vin first.Nice bike looks just like mine.FYI the 3.7 gallon tank makes for shity range,about 160km and the gas gauge will not work none of them do.Did you call them I have seen people asking 10000 a 2004 with 20000km,may be a typo

Ad claims to be from Port Dover and theres a phone number.

A simple phone call and discussion to arrange a viewing will reveal whether this is a scam or not.

Ontario plates on the vette + a phone number......I don't think it's a scam. If it's not a scam, I'm sure it's a typo.
I always disregard any ad like that. If it seems too good to be true, it is.
If you're curious, give them a call.

I like the ads where the bike is way under priced, the photo shows no plates on the bike and palm trees in the background.
 
Junior G-Men alert can probably be called off. Sounds like a typo this time.
 
That kid creeping around in the garage looks kinda shifty.

Yep the ad was edited this morning. I guess the seller noticed his typo. Damn.. not a bargain anymore.. lol

I was just thinking the same thing but just couldn't bring myself to type. (The first bike i'm talking about)
