I actually had this same problem as the OP at TMP yesterday. I wasn't bottoming the fork completely but it definitely gets a lot more harsh in the bottom of the range, and it was pretty squirrely under hard braking before 1 and 2. Added preload (quite a bit, in stages) and it fixed it.

I'm definitely going to need heavier springs soon though (or, a diet)..

All available preload dialed in and more compression didn't fix my bottoming at all I'm gonna be taking off the forks and sending them to Ryan Gill at Condor Racing for spings change and some cleaning. Don't have the $ for revalving them now..
