Hi everyone,
Just wondering if any of you goes through similar experience as I do which I call not much support from close circle and friends.
Biking is a passion for me and when I talk about it to some people in my circle they don't seem to happy or would say things like:"why not go for a car instead" or say things like "your life just got shorter"(that's the first thing I generally hear).
Even talking to my gf who supported me doing the class in the past seems like she's talking more and more on how I should buy a car (which I really don't need) specially after renting the last one when I went on a rd trip to see my folks. When ask her about my passion she supported me 2 yrs ago, she said:"Car is good, it's usefull, gives you a status; bike is just for fun, not the samething". Not the first time I'm hearing that, heard it in the past too ... wondering with all those remarks if it's a way to discourage me. (Of course based on my gf's reaction, I decided to keep this little new project of mine a little secret cause I wouldn't want to be suggested to buy a car instead just because I have the funds available ...)
Did/ does any of you guys/gals experienced similar situations? And if so how do you deal/ dealt with it?
Thanks!
