Superbike Double Header Weekend @ Mosport - Aug 9, 10, 11

Yes, no issues, its common, but the paths are narrow, and its only a 4km track.

Awesome. I do wish CTMP (I'm not writing that out anymore) would make their website more "spectator info" friendly. But I guess that's what I have you guys for.

Thanks again. Excited now knowing I can easily explore!

To clarify. You can enter the paddocks. Wander around and see the riders and their bikes. Stop by and see us. You will not be allowed in the pit area.

1. Its a park, sit where you want. There are grandstands, but you really should walk the track.
2. Yes, and FM radio
3. You can walk the entire track, and pits. Food is in the pit area, toilets are around the track, you can buy drinks around the track from vendors.
4. There is lots of room, Mosport once held the record for the largest sports crowd in CDN history, 110,000 (76 Canadian GP)
5. Main straight into turn one. Moss corner at the farthest end from the pits. This has a descent and braking into a double hairpin, once described by Niki Lauda as top ten corners in all racing. Great spot for passing.
6. Ear plugs, water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, cash. Preferably, buy some FM radio safety ear muffs, so you block out noise, but can hear the announcer. the track has loudspeakers, but they are useless outside of the pits. Turn one has a jumbotron, but only if TV is covering the races.

Mosport is one of the world's best and classic tracks, but the GTA has learned to ignore it in favour of watching drugged up players in US team sports in overpriced arenas.

It is NOTHING like TV...the sound is visceral, watching guys race in person is addictive. It's a nice place to spend a day.

The website is awful. Mosport has suffered bad management for decades. The new owners have invested in the track, but the website is cryptic.

I thought last year that it was only Sat and Sun however their website says:

Aug 9-11

Want to try the new BMW F800GSA or the outstanding BMW R1200GS? Over the course of the three day event, BMW Motorrad Canada will have its entire demo fleet of new model motorcycles available for test rides. Test rides will be offered on the hour each hour, from 9am - 4pm each day on a first-come, first-ride basis. The rides will be approximately 35 minutes in duration and include a 10 minute orientation on the bikes before each ride. Full riding and protective gear is required for all participants.

Can anybody confirm this...BMW website doesn't say and I was hoping to do some demos on Friday.

If you go on Saturday you have to pay for both Saturday and Sunday at the gate to gain entrance, you will be refunded the the money for Sunday when you leave the track on Saturday.

Just tried to get tickets through BMW and they are no longer selling them, These were advanced tickets that stopped being sold on July 26. Stupid me for not buying earlier, would have been a great deal, especially since I knew I was going rain or shine...
I tried at TO BMW a while ago and they told me to buy online...which I did...if you buy from Mosport they are still $50 but that ends tonight at midnight I believe. BMW ticket just got you a few extra goodies at the gate and a free sausage or whatever Sat nite.

what is the price at the gate?

i'll be heading over saturday morning from brampton. will decided to do a random route through back roads if the traffic is backed up on the 401. anyone wants to tag along is welcome.

Mosport must not have sold as many tickets as they wanted, I just got a call from them and they left a message to say they know I ordered tickets last year and they just wanted to remind me that the race is this weekend and give them a call back if I want to order my tickets for this weekend.

just got back from the Saturday session...great day..lots of room for everyone...got a great vid of the crash at turn 3 in the superbike race.the guy(46 I think) was running pretty good but lost it. ambulance took him but I think he will be ok. also got a great deal on a set of super corsa scrubs.
