Didn't go for this ride, but headed down for the test, and suprisingly I was well below the limit but the loudest in the cpl of bikes I went with, 86.5db.

You are welcome. Also, there were not many people that tested at 2,000rpm and I think I was the only one that tested at 5,000rpm. The chances that you'll pass the idle test and fail 2K and/or 5K tests are quite slim, although I've seen one cruiser pass at idle by a fair margin but fail miserably at 2K.
The two bylaw guys and a police officer were all very helpful and explained a lot about how/when this bylaw will be enforced. I also heard some interesting stories about who/why was pushing for it...
I expected to be somewhere near the limit since my 10 year old Yoshi RS3 was never repacked. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it's way below the limit - just 85db at idle (limit is 92). To avoid any doubt, also tested at 2,000 and 5,000rpm. 88db and 98db respectively, both well below the limits.
They tested about a hundred bikes today, all with aftermarket exhausts. less than five failed, and all of those were V twin cruisers with straight pipes and no baffles whatsoever. One clocked 99db at idle, I wish they could test it at 2,000rpm (it had no tachometer).
All in all, it's pretty hard to fail this noise standard, so I think 99% of people with brand name aftermarket pipes will be safe. All bets are off when we are talking about cruisers...

I haven't seen any. They may be borderline if I remember well how loud they usually are.
One guy had a 2bros on a Gsxr 600. He failed the idle test with it think it was 94db. Sounded awesome though.
One other thing to remember. If you are borderline failing, it helps to reduce idle speed if you can. I've seen a cruiser drop solid 2db just by adjusting the idle a little lower.
