Suggestions for a 500cc sportbike

Your EX500 also came with a whole lot of fairing damage. You practical rebuilt the whole thing (awesome job by the way!). You can get a whole lot of bikes at pretty good bottom bargain prices with the same kind of fairing damage. The question for OP is whether he's willing to buy a bike and put time into it. Not everyone is interested in a project bike.

On that note, EX500 owners: don't ever jet your carbs. Mine came jetted with full Hindle system. The jetting makes the bike run way too rich and makes things worst. I ordered some stock parts with the help of 00ninja and converting it back.

No problem!

Once you get the factory jets back in and sync your carbs you'll notice an improvement.

It's strange but and EX500 runs best with the stock exhaust and stock jets. More dependable to. Sure the aftermarket exhausts sound good but that's about it. No real performance gains (as per those that have raced them in modified and stock forms).

It's only worth around $100,000.

Technically a 572cc engine. But this would work.

Some of us did. After googling it I realized it was too rich for my blood!

just to clarify first and foremost, i'm a she not a he...

and why is everyone getting so angry with each other?...we can all have different opinions and we should respect them...i didn't post this to start a war, just get some feedback is all...

i went online last night and plugged in 1994-2009 with a price of $1000-$3000 and found the cheapest to be a 1996 at $1400 in Markham with 36000 km and the most expensive at $3000 for a 2000 with 18000 km in Windsor and another for $3000 a 2007 with 15300 km in London...

i'm not really looking for a project as i don't have the means nor technical know how to do a restoration of that caliber...i just want something reliable that isn't going to cost me $7-8000 out the door...
