Overall.....
Now what you are about to read is just my opinion.
Weather....couldn't ask for any better weather that what I got.
I got rained on once and it did rain a couple other times but that was late at night.
It did get pretty hot the one day but the rest of the days i had on my leather so it really didn't get that hot.
The dates I went......The Best!!!!!!!!!!
If anyone is thinking of attending this event I strongly recommend going the week before.
It's cheaper and less bikes in the Hills.
When I left Sunday there was a steady stream of bikes coming into Sturgis all along I90.
I cant even imagine how many people are there now.
Accommodations....perfect for me but I wasn't camping it.
If this is your idea I strongly recommend staying in the Hills.
Motels up around Spearfish and Sturgis get to a ridiculous price as the Rally draws near.
300 a night is common.
I spent 81 in the Hills
Speaking of camping....one morning it was 49f.
That's pretty dam cold.
Number one thing sold in Sturgis that day.....Hoodies.
Food....omg its everywhere.
You could be in the middle of the forest and come around a curve and bang there's a Pig Roast....in the middle of nowhere.
I tried some amazing stuff and not a bad meal in the bunch.
And you can small it all over he place.
I90 or I80
I90 is the ****.
The sooner you can get on it the better.
The whole time I was on it I saw construction maybe 2 or 3 times.
I80....I saw construction every 2 or 3 hours.
I mean it's just ridiculous.
Especially around Joliet
I80 sucks *** so just stay away from it if you can.
Princess....I cant say enough about her.
She never let me down once.
Whenever the gas light came on she always had another gallon in her to get me to the next stop.
And I ran her low a couple times.
But hey.....that's my girl.
Daytona or Sturgis.
Sturgis hands down.
I've been to Daytona twice and this was my first time to Sturgis.
The riding in Sturgis is far better than anything Daytona has to offer.
You could easily spend 5 days in the Hills having an amazing time
Gas.....Kum & Go is the best.
I hate BP
Put your credit card in and it asked for your postal code.
Now you have to go inside twice.
A what point is it any of there business what my postal code is?
Things I would change.....for me it's just the route.
Because of where i live I would take he Ferry next time.
I did some research on it today and for what it cost you pretty much break even.
You then could easily do this trip as 2 days there and 2 days back
Shoutout's
Many thanks to the boys at Lapeer Harley and Loveland and Rapid City for keeping Princess happy
Big thanks to the couple I met at my motel in Custer.
They were from North Dakota and we had some great conversations.
Big thanks to the girls in Sturgis for cleaning Princess up.
I mean this girl even layed on the ground to clean the back rim.
Lastly.
One last pic.
Saw way too many of these out there.
Take it easy and enjoy the ride.
