Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

2008 CBR 125
610km
$5,500 obo

Looks great but hasn't been ridden in 10+ years? Geez.
Weren't they less than $2000 new? 2013 sticker on it. Did she buy NOS or did she license it for five years with a total of 610km?

EDIT:
Apparently they tried $3500 MSRP but dropped price to $2000 to sell them.

And at the end of that generation, they were also bundling a Honda-branded helmet, jacket, and I believe even gloves.

2020 CB650 $7500 looks like right and left damage.

My first bike…paid $1800 for it. Sold it for $1800.

12 years ago…but this price is nuts.

"My mom bought it brand new but had two young kids so never rode it. "

Yet it has 610km on it and scratches on the front... maybe that's a metaphorical "never rode it"?

Dreamer...

Never was a desirable bike. The I-4 version of the daytona...

But it's a collector's item because nobody else bought one!

I remember that bike. A not quite there attempt to compete with the Japanese 600 i4's. Definitely a transition era for Triumph between the heavy but reliable early years and later success. This was just a couple years before the 675 triple came out, which was legitimately an awesome bike that competed well (on the street at least) with anything Japan had to offer.

So, yeah. $8k is dreaming. I don't think even the most dedicated RAT members have fond memories of that bike...

If the seller was just slightly less delusional they would not have included that 360 walk-around in the ad. Highly recommend clicking through to see it

If you look at his profile...

"Motorcycle available for road test and leisure"

Id bet there's no chance he'd have a Commercial Insurance Policy.

Shady bike renter. Somebody crashed his rental.

Is it available? Yes(Ask me and you're subscribed to my daily notification and mass messaging) :ROFLMAO:

Somebody's underwater...... I especially like that it's down from $28,000.00
I am guessing this is full retail + paying a shop to do all the work.
Hard lesson.

Need this gone ASAP as I am going back home. Runs perfectly, the cops saw me twice without a license plate and let me go as it looks like a toy but runs great.

2008 Honda CBR 125R

Naked street fighter conversion. Runs and rides amazingly, perfect beginner bike. Very very fuel efficient and super cheap on insurance.

Mods:

- Exhaust

- LED headlight

- New levers

Oil change done on Time, coolant flush done, new battery put in. Spare clutch cable included. Bike has been super reliable and fun to me but time to get something newer.

Ownership and bill of sale in hand ready for new owner

No ignition key (disconnect battery for security), no speedometer/display, no turning lights (switches) and no side mirrors. But it's best in performance you can get it this price. and newest model you can get “

So no possible way it passes safety and they want $1000. It may be an OK bike but considering it probably costs most of $1000 to get it to pass safety, the sale price needs to be close to zero.

Anything is worth whatever it is to the person who wants it.

I remember buying my 1986 Suzuki RG 500 Gamma. I believe MSRP was $6100, but dealers were selling it for $4800 which is what I paid for it plus tax.

I would gladly pay $6100 or even $10,000 now for a 1986 that was well stored with no miles on it (aka not abused).

In 2018 I bought a used 2015 sports car with 157 kms on it; basically a new car that I could no longer buy new in 2018. I gladly paid 88.2% of what it went for out the door. I still have it, no regrets.

Well I do not see a link to it. How much $$$ and to someone it is worth that. If it doesn't sell it is either too high or someone looking for one doesn't know about it.
