If it really is the RZV from overseas and not just the RZ500 then it's probably not that far off the mark.
The RZV had an aluminum frame as I recall and perhaps some other improvements over the steel framed rz500.I might be wrong, it was a long time ago.
I'm not sure it's stupidly overpriced. Probably overpriced and it will be a hard sell. 14 yo gixxer with 42,000 km dropped on both sides $3000.

The plate on it is 4 times the size of a Canadian plate. That, and it looks like it's parked in the runoff puddle of a wet market.
'71 CB750 for $4k, looks cool from afar, up close pics say otherwise. Oh and there's no ownership...
