Stupidly overpriced motorcycle for sale thread

7 years back I found a car parts shop in T.O that had a few cbr250rr ready to import from japan. Problem was they wanted me to do all paperwork but wouldn’t agree on price up front. At the time I would have happily paid $3000 for a little rough needing work. Really want an RVF400 but nutty money. Shop in Etobicoke has 250 and 400 cc Japan imports in the $4-$5000 range.

Only dropped a few times on both sides. Also cutting out while ridding randomly but continually. A steal at $1700

If it was $700 probably go for it. Had a kill switch recall and ignition switch fails causing problem described. Loads of forum info about this problem.

At least file some of the whiskers of the sliders before posting pics. It has quite clearly slid on both sides, not just a tip over. $5 says he has moved on to a gixxer.

EDIT:
He is also selling a water damaged cell phone, TV that doesn't turn on sometimes and "luxurious" mitsubishi that had the spark plugs changed 100,000 km ago (I'm sure that will be very important to the potential buyer) and "rockford's gate" premium sound.

“Mechanically the lowside exposed the ECU to water. “

If it was just an ECU I think it would be easy enough to source one out and have it swapped out.

There MUST be more to the story.

I'm pretty sure most ECU's are epoxy potted to prevent water damage. Must have been quite the low-side.

also the damage to the tank is on the left side yet somehow the right hand slider got trashed???

Since we are on the topic of FZ6's. Here is another one that will be hard to sell.

Theft recovery from the US with salvage title. Cannot get it on the road in Ontario.
Does not have a working ignition. Looks like it was used as a parts bike for another bike.

$2750

I doubt that this will sell.

That's a FZ6R, not nearly the same bike. Much heavier, less power. Totally different bike. Yamaha messed up with the name.

Yes you are right.
Regardless if its an R or no. I still dont think it worth a gamble and it wont sell.

They are great bikes for insurance to power reasons if you want to consider that a real metric, but I wouldn't expect more than $3000 on a great day from my clean 06.

Lets not be critical of all of them.
I'd like to give the seller of my FZ6 some credit. I got a good deal on mine ;)

But sure, the rest of them can be lunatics .

I think you are about to see a sharp decrease in the resale value of old anything right about now.
Was just watching that Pickers show and thinking, omg you guys are done.

Good time to pick up that 2nd, or 3rd or Nth bike you have always wanted.

I noticed quite a few bikes that were on Kijiji a few months ago when I was selling mine are relisted and for quite a bit more money. Are new riders that eager or gullible come spring, or are the sellers that delusional?

Spring/summer is a sellers market, fall/winter is a buyers market. Once the weather turns nice, everyone starts thinking about bikes and making purchases.

I myself am thinking about a new jacket and helmet. Could have bought the stuff over winter at a lower price, but didn't get around to it

I expect the upcoming economic turmoil to put a serious damper on the buying market though.

And the biking market in general. Cutting insurance on a bike is a quick way to free up a lot of cash. If you are sitting on cash and want another bike, a great opportunity is coming up.

Just listed and sold my 2013 TU250X. I personally tried to stay reasonable on price. Ended up at 2300 cert. closest was $4000 according to the buyers research. Far to much for that model used. Now trying to find a service Ontario open to do the transfer was entertaining.
