$12,000 for a1979 CBX.
I don't know if it is THAT much of a collectors bike to warrant that high a price

Have any of you guys ever heard 1 of those CBX's with a 6-1 exhaust before? The sound is just unbelievable & it can be heard a mile away lol!

I love the "hard to find" angle.

I could've bought a 2004 SV1000, 3 years ago but decided to go with the VFR. Negotiated price at the time was $3,400.

I am kind of curious about the SV1000. I saw an article about the bike, made it sound like one of the biggest flops since the Ford Edsel. Even though everybody seems to love the SV650, it would be hard to even give away an SV1000. Same bike, bigger motor, how bad could it be? I'm assuming it was a marketing problem and not bad engineering.

The full fairing is somewhat hard to find on the 650. Not sure why, it makes it look much more like a sportbike.

It was a cheaply made litrebike, basically, sold at regular price. Also you gotta remember it came out hot on the heels of the TL1000R/S, so compared to those it was a big disappointment

Wasn't the TL1000R the one with the killer rotary shock?
Competition killed the SV1000, but it was still a pretty good bike.

The SV is painfully top-heavy and had budget suspension on it... and was not cheap or pretty enough. Not a bad bike, certainly, but not a standout in any way that I can think of. Especially since they neutered the high RPM performance of that engine. A friend of mine bought one against my advice last year and traded it back in again this spring, stating that he tried to like it but never gellled...

Some folks on some of the other boards seem to think that competition from the GSX-Rs helped to kill the SV1000.

I just noticed that somebody on this board is offering a 2005 SV1000 for a lot less than the one that was pointed out in this thread.
