Stupid Q about exhaust bracket

Sorry for this dumb question.. But hope someone can help.

Bought an exhaust that has a bracket to mount to passenger pegs. It doesn't have any rubber (silicone?) protecting the bracket from scratching the exhaust. What are some options? I searched Amazon and stuff and it's 2+ weeks til anything arrives..

Thank you.

Edit: would something like silicone tape work as a temporary or long term solution?

Is this a bracket that is not suppose to move? Putting silicone tape between 2 surfaces that are not suppose to move is probably not a great idea, silicone is a lubricant, there is also a matter of heat. ... or maybe I'm just not picturing the installation correctly :/

Check the install instructions. I suspect you mean the band clamp that goes around the can, not the part that fixes to the footpeg mount. Not all band clamps use a gasket, check your install instructions.

If the gasket is missing, get the dealer/manufacturer to ship one to you by courier. If you need a temp fix, use any type of automotive gasketing (except liquid stuff). The outside of the can shouldn't get that hot, cork or rubber should suffice.

@Trials I'm not sure if it's for grip purposes or just there as protection tbh..

@Mad Mike ya just the inner black band is missing from the bracket. As mentioned above im not 100% sure if it's for gripping or just for protection.

As long as the band can fit snugly you're fine to use without that black rubber. If it doesn't, you'll get some vibration noise which will suck the life from your soul.

@JFD it clamps ok, just cause some minor scratching during installation. No vibration sounds. I'll leave it for now then, cheap exhaust anyways to toy with for now lol. Thanks all.
