Nice save! Saves his bike with his body lol Perhaps get some sliders thrown on the bike? You got really lucky dropping a new bike and only breaking the shifter!

Thanks. My leg and feet are still sore from the bike landing on it, but I'd rather have a bruise than damage to the bike. Have frame sliders sitting at home for over a year but have never gotten around to installing them. Now's a good time.
 
take a good look at where the peg fractures.

i had a rearset on an 04' Concours replaced under warranty. reason being that the piece had fractured and there was gapping in it. it was as if the piece was not cast properly.
 
once aluminum has been bent you should never weld it. The structural integrity has been compromised

That makes no sense what so ever, my frame is made of bent pieces of aluminum welded together...And I have aluminum things for the bike TIG welded all the time....It all comes down to the welders expereince
