Stupid bicyclists...

It's not a bicyle thing.

There are idiots on the road using all forms of transportation.

I've noticed that people tend to drive with the same characteristics regardless of the method of transportation. Someone who drives their car like a jackass, will also ride a bike like a jackass, and vice versa.

I completely agree with this. Stupid people are stupid no matter what they're driving. I do a fair bit of riding on the road with my tri-bike. The first 10km to get out of the city can be a bit intense. A majority of that ride is up a 50kph road and with the red lights i get i can use it as interval training. So when i'm actually riding I can pretty well keep up with traffic. 45ish kph. I still encounter people that need to pass me just because I'm on a bike, meanwhile I'm keeping up with the car in front of me. Things that make you go hmmm.. There are times that i don't really follow the rules of the road but I try not to get too upset when people do dumb things around me. So long as they're not actually things that put me in danger i think its a fair trade. I run red lights and stop signs when traffic and visibility permit, i used sidewalks to bypass traffic sometimes. I try to stay out of the way tho.

That being said. Lots of cyclists are stupid too. I think lots of people are stupid.

But drivers are accountable for their actions, cyclists aren't required to register their bicycles, display a license plate or have insurance. It boggles me how many cyclists don't use lights at night.

Same here. I don't ride when it's dark but my riding is 100% recreational. I see people riding when I'm driving to work, i assume they're riding to work, and quite often they dont have lights. Hell often enough they dont even have reflectors and dont even bother to wear bright clothing. Stupid people everywhere.

Cyclist slammed into the right rear of my Mustang, dented the RR quarter panel, and sped off. I couldn't have caught him if I ran, couldn't chase in the Mustang as traffic was at a stop. It is hit-and-run...only they aren't held accountable. Cost me $1000 to fix the car.

yeah, was sitting at an intersection years back, bay and bloor, dude in car makes a right, gets stuck at pedestrian crossing, cyclist tries to squeeze through between car and van, takes out cars mirror, hilarity ensues, poor jetta was trying to do everything to catch the cyclist...ah well, welcome to toronto...

Carry a wooden rod and throw it between his spokes :D

Ok, suppose one does catch a cyclist that hits your car and takes off. How do you handle the situation?

Physically hold onto that person and call the police? Suppose that person becomes aggressive and tries to get away? How much force can you use to hold that person?

Think I saw the same cyclist this morning at the same location but wasn't quite sure it was him.

u can do watever u want to him as long as theres no witness
