Stripped bolt on fairing - can't do an oil change - suggestions?

So it turns out that the pilot hole I drilled wasnt centered.... felt so stupid when I realized that. So I slowly made a drilling hole bigger and closer to the dead centre. After that, grabit worked and I was jumping for joy lol.

However, after the oil change I put the fairing incorrectly and broke one if the rubberized nut that attaches to the plastic... sigh... my poor bike

Wow the bike I just purchased has the coolant drain bolt stripped. Gonna try that extractor kit but I'm afraid it's really tight. Pray for me guys.

Worked perfect even on a tight bolt. I just used a normal drill then used the extractor.

Its much easier to remove a stuck bolt when the head is removed already, most of the tightness comes from the head in most cases. So once its drilled off or snapped off on its own there if usually very little tension left in the threads....Sometimes when the head snaps off it warps and digs into the threads a little, but still removing the head usually loosens up stuck bolts...You have a much better chance at removing it easily

Ok makes sense. Such a relief getting it out.
 
Get it to a body shop and ask them to weld a bung to the stripped bolt. Then use grips to lose it up.

I think if you weld to steel bolt in an aluminum case like that, there is a good change you you will melt the alum threads . The temperature required to weld the steel is way higher then the melting temp of most alum alloys . One of my old bikes had magnesium cases .. Welding to bolts in that would yield spectacular results...
