Sticky Throttle

How badly does the throttle stay open ?
Do you have a friend that can maybe help look at it ?
If it's really stuck open would not be safe to ride it like that.

Like the throttle legit just sits at the one spot where ever i place it and it does it snap back at all. The revs continue to increase aswell lol. And i know it couldnt have done anything to it as i have never raced it i just left it in my garage one night came back the next morning to this because it was working perfectly the day before. Maybe the previous owner did not winterize it properly which cudda caused the lube or oil to dry up. I honestly dont know haha

Since you are in Brampton, there are several forum members in Brampton, maybe someone help?

Sounds like a very simple fix - maybe your cable just needs to be adjusted?

Im sure a ton of ppl would be willing to help if you buy them a coffee!

If your out riding around in Brampton, say hi!

Hopefully bro cuz just to tow the bike there and back is going to cost 200 dollars lmfaoooo

New cables shouldn't need any "lube" at all if they are adjusted correctly. Actually, I'm a firm believer that cables don't need any additional lube at all. What they came with new is best.

If push/pull cables are set too tight you wont get a good throttle return either. Both cables have to be properly adjusted so they aren't fighting each other. As someone else mentioned, make sure the routing is correct. But on a new bike it shouldn't be a problem unless someone has messed around with it.

possibly the return spring on the FI has come off???

Im probably gunna just end up towing it down, i just hope throttle problems are covered under warranty lol

save yourself the tow fee. If you're comfortable ... loosen the throttle cables, take OFF the THROTTLE GRIP from the handle bar. Clean inside and whatever gunk on the handle bar making it stick -- add some WD40 inside the throttle grip once its clean. Reinstall and make sure all cables adjusted properly.

Unsure of doing this? then use your warranty and pay for towing. Agree as others, don't ride if its sticking as bad as you say.

Yea thats wht im probably gunna have to do hahah cuz i have to get it safety tested anyway lmfao

K so i get my bike back a week and a half ago and they fixed my sticky throttle, they said the cable was not in its proper place. I bring it back ride it around twice over a week and a half and the throttle starts sticking again... wtf Kahuna PowerSports?!?!?

Yeaaaah, that's pretty bad. Unless it happens to be an entirely different problem which I wouldn't believe anyways.

Yeaa i highly doubt there is another problem and when i asked him how it stuck the first time they said maybe u went into where the cable is and messed around with it, like wth? Even tho its covered in warranty its just so much shipping it back there and then back to my house lol

I bet a good samaritain around here would be happy to drop by and fix it up for you, if you're willing.

What does "cable not in it's proper place" mean? Out of adjustment? Moved around or tangled with other cables?
I think we need to know what it feels like when you twist the grip in order to start diagnosing the problem. Can you describe whether you feel resistance or it spins freely?

They said that the cable dug into the throttle tube and fell off lol, and i asked them well when i dropped it off why not fix that aswell instead of just putting it back and they didnt really have an answer for that. Theres no resistance either u just pull the throttle and it stays in one spot and doesnt snap back.

Yea they should of but instead they decide to just put it back in its spot, like it makes no sense to me lolol

jeeze... take it some place else where they'll actually fix the real problem instead of just resetting the mousetrap!
