I am looking for a great steak house within a 15 minute drive of Sunnybrook Hospital. Suggestions?

Never been there but the Duncan House has that ritzy expensive look it. Moatfield near Don Mills and York Mills
I used to do regular lunchs at the Prince Hotel and enjoyed them but that was years ago
Had a great lunch a couple of weeks ago at the Glow Fresh Grill at the Shops of Don Mills, Lawrence and Don Mills Rd.
Not traditional steakeries but.....

google for their menus

Best steak I've had in the city was @ Jacobs & Co on Brant St., pricey but well worth the $ (expect to spend around $250-300 for 2 people if you drink a cheap bottle of wine with your meal lol). Google the name and you'll be amazed by the reviews.

According to google maps its 19mins away from Sunnybrook.

I'll second Jacobs, its pretty nice
Closer to sunnybrook is Barberians, its about 15mins
My current favorite is Hy's , its a classic old school steakhouse with great cherry paneling and low lighting and velvet and leather chairs, I love the place,

none of the above are what i would call reasonable. The best steak in the world comes off my grill at home, no you cant come over for dinner.

Agree with crankcall about Barberians. Steak is excellent though decor is a little old school.
Food isn't cheap though.

Wildfire is/was pretty good and fairly priced. Haven't been for a couple years though

Maybe I caught Barberians on a bad night but had a rib eye there about $50 plus a glass of wine @$12 about $85 with tip was not impressed. This sums up my experience there; after leaving the restaurant I was walking to the concert venue, passed a hot dog/ sausage cart and said to myself a mild Italian sausage would have been more enjoyable!

The Keg by Leslie and York Mills.

You know what? three years ago your couldn't have dragged me into a keg, but they changed it up and now have an option to order a steak cooked "chicago". They do an OK job, not great, you need about 1800degrees to pull it off right.
It creates a crusty bark on the surface that tastes fantastic. The keg is value for the money, I just have a problem with chain restraunts. Not my thing.

Hy's is my choice.

Harbour 60 is great but expensive and is downtown like Barberians and Mortons. Barclay's Steakhouse 1921 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto, ON M1R 2Y6 (416) 751-9271 was great a long time ago so I cannot confirm if it is still as good as in once was. But when in doubt there is always the Keg (Leslie & Yorkmills)

Obviously depends on the amount you wanna spend. I've had some good steaks at a lot of the places mentioned but the final bill definitely varied.

Expensive: Jacobs and Harbour 60 are great.
Did a steak tasting at Jacobs for a buddy's bday and it was awesome. They brought us a whole variety of cuts and you could really taste the difference.
Harbour 60 bonus is the bacon in the bar area instead of bar nuts. Ask your server to bring you some if you are seated directly.

Mid Range: Not a fan of Barbarians. But I'll add Ruth's Chris at Richmond and University and House of Chan on Eglinton just west of Bathurst.
Ruth's Chris was amazing cuz it came out super hot which was the only time I've had a steak that needed to cool off before eating. I'll caution that they use a lot of butter so if you don't want it then tell the server.
House of Chan is also know for its lobster but they make a good steak.

Lower: Keg. Always a decent option.

Mmmmm, mouth watering, gonna be an expensive couple of weeks now trying all these places again.

+1 for Barbarians, +1 for Duncan House

Is there a canyon creek in the area? A good alternative to the Keg IMO.

-1 for Hy's, they have a lifetime ban from me, went to the one in Vancouver (long time ago in all fairness) and the waiter asked me if I wanted Hy's special sauce on my steak.... seemed like a good idea at the time being in a higher end steal house and all (must be good it is special), they ruined my steak by putting BBQ sauce on it! Instant lifetime ban.

Mmmm....Steak.

Google maps has Harbour Sixty 18 minutes away from Sunnybrook. It's pricing but very good. Keg is a good value and I think much better than Ruth's Chris for the price. Best Steak I ever had was at Manny's Steakhouse in the W Hotel Minneapolis. It's a must do if you're ever in the twin cities.

Ok so if we are taking this outside Toronto, Primehouse in Chicago, they have a himilayan salt tiled cellar and dry age the steaks in house for 55days. Its actually worth the drive.
Chops in Atlanta, old school house with waiters older than my grandpa that have been there since fire was invented. The sides are for the table so the bill isnt crazy. The wine cellar is so big its across the street in another building. Get someone else to take you there and pick up the bill.

I have a house in northern Arizona, good steak isn't dinner, its a God given right. My favorite haunts when i'm in town are Kirkland house and Murphys, both know you can shoot a cook there for messing up a good steak. The Palace would be a third , but mostly because its been there since 1880's and has an in house museum of confiscated gambling cheat gear and handguns they took away from misbehaving guests. Its different I can promise you that.
