StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

I had the same effin thing happen with SF when I bought my ZX6R this year. My original quote from them was $75/month, long story short, I bought the bike and am now paying $130/mth. Still not bad, but enough of a piss off to be paying almost double what I was originally quoted! I feel your pain :(!!

By the sounds of it they quoted you with a car policy too.

I got my quote from them for $69/month w/car and $119 w/o car

That's what they thought too when I asked them why it was so different, but they had quoted me that as well at the time and it would have been $52 with a car policy, so that wasn't the case.

Yes I have completed the Centennial course last week. Most places I called said it barely made a difference though. In terms of Des Jardins, they wont give me a quote until the 16 of May, which is when my 60 days are up and I can officially go to the ministry and validate my m2. I'm also looking at the long term of things, for example November/December when I wont be riding but still paying the monthy $287. When winter comes and I'm in school taking the TTC, barely working and broke, that $60 will make a huge impact lol. I've had a few bites and MIGHT be able to do a straight swap with someone if i'm lucky...

Did you ask your agent why the price jumped or did you just take it in the hoop and opt to pay the price?

State Farm insurance is based on a couple of factors:

Age (after you turn 25 you should see a decrease)
Location
CC's on the Bike (the higher you go the better)

You should also see a decrease if you add more items under an "umbrella" policy like a car and apartment etc. all lumped in the same area.

Once you have completed your course with a registered riding school and got your certificate, they will take this under consideration.

Another big thing will vary on how much driving experience you have, this can factor in to your motorcycle costs.

The last 2 don't matter to SF, (Well motorcycle experience doesn't, but "G" class does)

Now I have no idea of your lifestyle, but you're a student...
If you partake in such things, quit the booze, weed, cigarettes, clubbing...you'll come up with that 67 bucks.

Did you try jacking all your deductibles to the max?

Just curious..I'm 24 full G for five years just got my m1 again and I got a 07 cbr600rr and Im with State Farm paying 315/month. Is this a good rate? Or can I do better? And the training course doesn't matter with State Farm I went through this a week ago with them.

TD lets you do a motorcycle quote online, maybe try them?

False. You can have a stand alone bike policy. It gets better if you have other insurance products with them some changes as life, car, house, etc.

At least, that's what my Allstate agent told me.

Allstate also denied me coverage for only my bike. The price for my bike (gsxr 1000) would be $65/month if i brought my car and house over. It's a great price but I was only looking for a bike specific policy which they denied.

Would you believe me if I told you I do none of the above? Only drank for one week in my entire life (in Cancun) don't like getting high, never liked cigarettes and only go clubbing when a close friend has a birthday (once every few months?) :angel3::angel5::angel7::angel9:
inb4 people start judging, saying i'm boring/missing out etc. Not susceptible to peer pressure :D

Now back to insurance: Unfortunately statefarm was still the cheapest. Liability only, no theft and fire. Basically only the mandatory things to get me on the road. Some companies came close ($5-10/month) but no one gave me a cheaper rate despite the training certificate...
To be quite honest, If the exchanging of bikes goes well (lets say I only lose $2-300) I will be quite content with paying $135/month. I'll just have to suck it up and be happy with the smaller bike...
