StateFarm and accident benefits

I wish there were more adjusters like you out there.

you have to understand that due to the fact that I deal with primarily the ****** adjusters that want nothing more then to determine my Cat clients as mig or non Cat, I am dealing with some of the most idiotic adjusters out there. I agree that places like Assessment Direct are disgusting. I am happy when I see ******** going to prison for scamming insurance companies...case and point: http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/180593.

With that said, I would never use services of places like Universal Rehabilitation Injury Center or Assessment Direct. I know they are the scum of the earth. However it's quite funny. that one clinic was able to destroy the entire legitimacy of the business.

I did some research and you seem to be a good guy, at least from the advice I've seen you give.

However I am sure you can understand my skepticism.

I appreciate the fact you think I am not a moron. (I also apologize to the OP for hijacking his thread). If it was 1 or 2 clinics destroying the good name of clinics I would agree with you. However; it's 300 (that we know about) the few that we named are the bottom of the barrel.

I can agree that there can be adjusters that don't act within the best intrests of the clients. Probably for multiple reasons (burn-outs, those close to retiring, jaded etc). Or for the plain and simple fact the adjuster dropped the ball (*raises hand*) been there done that. I've also known some adjusters at companies and I look at them and wonder how they manage to tie their own damn shoes.

However; there are some paralegals out there that I wonder the same thing. I've personally wanted to tell off my fair share. (Believe me I understand the animosity of the industry) Sometimes even ego, pride, sheer ignorance can result in claimants being caught in the cross fire. People do things that aren't normal when they dig their heels in.

Sometimes lawyers can help. Sometimes you hear a person, talk to a person, meet a person and just think to yourself "You're over your head, get help". Due to conflict of interests we can't recommend lawyers. Here, I am absolved of that, and I can mention ones I have had a great working relationship with. I don't know the client, insurance company they're claiming through or who the adjuster is.

"I did some research and you seem to be a good guy, at least from the advice I've seen you give.

shhh....

And yes, most paralegals are morons. My practice is usually to be very open with the Adjuster and work together in the best interests of the client. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.

I agree that there is a lot of corruption on the side of clinics. However I want your opinion on something now that we established that you are not an idiot lol....What is your opinion regarding the fact that Claims Pro and Granite Claims solutions have taken over Sibley and Associates and Riverfront and Medisys?

I'm game if he is.
I wouldn't mind.

I wondered why you went speficially after those clinics in your previous posts. Now it make sense. In my opinion it's no different than paralegals who have "perferred clinics" and business cards sitting on their desk. Or tow truck drivers referring / cohorcing (sp?) people in car accidents to go speak to lawyers because "they'll make you a little bit of money" (that's a direct quote by the way).

with respect to my side of the claims process. We're supposed to be the "white knights" of the industry and remain in that sort of role where we always play fair (yeah yeah) I think with what they did, they blurred the lines a little bit. They claim to have total seperation, but you know there's going to be promotioning of both.

I don't know, We'll see how it pans out. Until someone calls foul I think we'll see more companies sort of pushing the fronteirs of the industry. Something had to give eventually, we've been doing the same song and dance long enough. Maybe this will inspire change for the better (or worse)

Insurance companies may stop using clinics that are owned by people like granite. They may say no "thats a conflict" Clinics don't declare their conflict when a client was referred by a paralegal. So what's say the other side has to......

Is that what you're looking for?

Was just interested in your opinion. I actually had a discussion with the AB Director of RBC. He is a friend of mine and we were talking about the whole situation. I pointed out the fact that Insurance companies cry foul when a lawyer refers a client to a clinic, but they can? I think we are pretty much in agreement on this issue.

Say what you will, you have two insurance company adjusters trying to hide facts from the OP.

They say a lawyer will complicate his case?

I wonder if he knows he is entitled to Attendant Care, Housekeeping, and other such benefits due to the injuries that he has suffered.

Quick question, if you are taking care of disabled/sick parent, or any person in general, is there a benefit applicable in that situation if you are no longer capable to do so because of injury?
