Get the bike that you can afford to buy, including insurance payments and gear costs. It doesn't matter, which beginner bike you will get - 125, 250, 300, 400, 500, as long as you can afford to pay for it, and get proper gear to ride that bike. All of the beginner bikes are excellent bikes. The only difference is how quickly people get bored riding them (usually proportional to engine size, or at least they think it is).
