Stainless brake line

Take it back to whoever assembled the brake line.

It can be tricky when assembling that style of fitting, to get the compression ferrule inside to seat correctly, and when it doesn't, it leaks as described.

Exactly. Simple but time consuming fix.

The tech who built those lines should have no issues correcting the issue at hand.

It's a simple and honest issue / mistake. It's just taken a while to leak.

Sorry, off topic, can you clear your inbox? :D I need to PM you.

Lolz :lmao:

Thanks, there actually is a protective jacket it just start right where the pic ends. You can just barely see it on top of the pic.
The protective layer should be throughout the line. This is not for bling. This pvc layer prevent fatigue of the ss fibers so they do not break from repetitive bending & vibration. If there is any rubbing on those lines keep an eye on them because the fibers would break.

Think of it this way, try twisting electrical wires repetitively. They will not break, now remove the plastic covering & try again. What happens?

^ This.

I've had braided lines break on my car because the clear outer jacket layer cracked (I used them in winter, bonehead move), which allowed dirt & sand to get in to the braid. Sand (rock) is harder than metal; the bending & rotational motion of the wheel with the sand in the braid caused the SS layer to fray. Thank GOD that it takes more than the SS layer to break before it leaks.

Yes, heat is a major factor when deciding to use SS lines (metal transfers more heat out), but SS (or any relatively non-flexible hose material) lines are also used to aid in brake modulation. If the line doesn't flex, you will have greater control at the brake lever over exactly how much force is being put onto the brake pads. Sure, this amount is minimal, but there IS a difference.
