I had a pigeon fly at me as I drove under bridge last week.. It's was either him or me.. Gave that sucka an 80km/h headbutt..

I grew up in the sticks, so critters big and small were way more plentiful than people. Rule of thumb: if you see anything ahead on or beside the highway, slow down / stop until they clear. Esp deer will always wait until the last second to jump in front of you. They are nature's left-turning mini-vans.

I haven't been riding very long, but I have had a squirrel, snake, deer, fox and a raccoon cross my path while I was riding. Dusk seems to be a choice time for the little buggers out here in the country. A friend of mine lost a good friend when he hit a deer while riding through the southern states on his chopper
