Sprinkler/Irrigation System Installation

One more quote just came in

mixture of products, all the sprinkler heads are Rainbird, the controller is Hunter
this one is the most expensive, yet they will use the tap outside to feed the system, this is not the way to do it, at least not for me.

Well a decision has been made….

I reached out t a total of 7 companies

3 did not respond at all

1 came out but never followed up with a quote

3 came out, submitted quotes, some had more detail than others, low mid and high in pricing

i went with my gut feeling, and who I thought was giving me the best for my dollars

8Days a Week in my opinion was the best and I have committed to using them, deposit submitted

I hope some of this information will help others

Thanks. Were they low, mid or high? It's mainly for interest as you said, even if they were high, value for money may be there versus one that cost less money but crap performance.
 
Quotes came in at

3495.00 low and mix of products, I did not like the interaction
3740.00 mid all the same product, I had a good feeling right off the bat
5270.00 high again mixed products, and I did not see where the extra money was being used

had one that was between 3900-4900 but they never came out to do a exact quote
 
Flower beds, vegetable gardens need watering, not just my lawn

when the wife spends hundreds of dollars on veggies and flowers, they have to be watered, or they die

my manual sprinklers did not give me the full coverage on the lawns, always a spot that got missed or that got too much water…

thanks for this, I’m going to try to budget for this at some point and this gives me an idea of what to expect
 
Thats about $2k more than I would have expected to be honest but I guess it depends on your needs.

Parts makeup about 1500 to1800 dollars worth, the rest is install costs, and their knowledge on what to put where, plumbing connections, wiring, drilling holes from furnace room to the outside for pipe and electrical, and so on

my time is worth more to me doing other things, and not digging trench’s for a day or two

my neighbour did his own, had friends and family help, took 2 days to get it all done, worked all of maybe 2 years, now it either leaks all over the place if he turns it on, so most of the time it’s not used anymore .

once in place it’s one less thing I need to worry about, frees me up for better things
