Spring?? WHo's got their bikes out .....or never put them away

wow...

that Burgman must have all the ameneties and a ton of wind coverage.

That's nothing. Ridden correctly it'll surprise R1's and the like in the twisties. It carries it's weight low and has self shifting. There used to be a very informative thread dedicated to this engineering marvel. You don't see a lot of them around but if you're looking start at local pastry shops.

how bout that rain? you guys planning to do some riding this weekend? im getting my plates tommorow. I so excite.

Lovin the rain feelin groovy. Cracked 100kms yesterday no sweat. Tried to seafoam a stumble out of it. Nothing doing. Soaking carb right now, hope to shadow the usual haunts this weekend.

Commuted from Hamilton to Mississauga all winter. 13,000kms on the Burgman 650 from October to now. Only had to borrow the wife's car 5 times all winter. Burgman going into storage for the summer next week, and the VTX 1800r comes out.
You, Sir, are THE MAN. *tips hat*

No riding for me today but I cleaned all the dirt and mud of the bike today. She's ready to hit the roads tomorrow! My wrist is sore as hell from this week's riding (noob problems) but I'm stoked to get back in the saddle.

Get a woman to do that for you.
teehee

Seriously though, i was freaked out too first week of riding, but it went away pretty fast.

By the way very sexy bike

Today's the day!

We've had a bit of rain to wash the salt away so I think todays the day I bring my new bike in to get safetied so I can ride over the weekend.

Ive rode it alot out in the country already but my shop is a good 15min away in the middle of downtown St. Catharines so I think I'm just going to do the responsible thing and get a uhaul trailer.
The shop isn't ready for me until 4 and the registration place closes at 5 so its going to be a mad dash today to get the bike safetied registered and insured all before everything closes for the weekend, but I have a faith.

Id be lying if I said im not excited! :D

Hope all goes well with the safety and nothing throws a hammer into the plans. :)

Looking like great weather tomorrow indeed.

Keep those hands warm! It's cold-ish feeling (def colder than tueday)

Thanks!

I don't expect there will be any issues I've already taken the whole bike apart pretty much over the winter, doing all my fluid changes and stuff, and didnt see anything. I'd be really surprised if anything comes up. Knock on wood!

I'll see you out there this weekend! :D (hopefully)

Amen to that. Went home at lunch and traded the car for the bike. Chilly ride back to work. Lucky I have Oxford heated grips. Those things rock.

TWN says it's 3oC right now. They called for a high of 11oC. We'll see how close we get to that...

Thanks, fellas. Yep, great wind protection and an absolute blast to ride even on lightly snow covered roads. Rode to work yesterday in that rain and stayed dry. Coldest commute was -15, but heated gear made it fine. $400 a year to insure and 60mpg makes it a sweet ride. So much fun that I would love to keep both the Burgman and the VTX out for the summer, but I only have room in the garage for one bike.
One guy in pickup tried to stay beside me as I merged onto the 401 the other day. Left him in the dust as Burgy was still pulling at slightly more than legal speeds....:D

Well, the safety is all done. She passed with flying colors.

However, on the way there tragedy struck!

My poor bike fell over in the trailer :'(

Its not too bad really. The frame sliders did their job. Only damage is a cracked part of the rear fairing. I really tiny part of the fairing that looks like it just snaps on and off. So I can probably buy a replacement.
Thats what I get for trying to be responsible. Shouda just rode it there. Oh well.

Anyways the real tragedy is that my insurance company wont be able to get my insurance started until monday :'(
