Spring?? WHo's got their bikes out .....or never put them away

One thing is for sure...the 15W40 was pretty damned thick in yesterdays temperatures. If next winter turns out like this winter and there's lots of riding to be had I'll be swapping it out for something thinner. Considering the temps looking forward are in the +10 or more range I'm ok with it at this point, but in cold(er) weather, well, not so comfortable.

rode the bike home, awesome. Gotta fill the tank and get rid of that old fuel, maybe throw in some seafoam to clean things up a bit.

So tempting to take the bike out this week but I'll wait for a good rain fall or two.

Took her out for a spin today. Even saw a guy who was just as excited to be on his bike as I was.

One thing for sure, cars are definitely not looking out for us. Guy fully came right into my lane without so much as a shoulder check, too happy to give a **** otherwise I would have gave him a piece of my mind.

had that happen to me but in my little car, my heads defs gonna be on a swivel when im confident enough for the main roads

Something like 15mm rain for Wednesday and 30mm rain for Thursday. Should be more than enough to clean things up. Sad part is the weekend was supposed to be warm and sunny, but now more rain is forecast there as well (plus a drop in temp for the following weekend).

So If I rode in Feb and then started again today, which is my start for the year? lol

It got stored for about just over a month and then again for just under a month.

Rode to work today. Saw a rider on the 401 westbound after I switched out to my work truck and was headed east. Edit: And 2 other guys on cruisers just passed me here in the big metropolis of Stirling, headed north.

I sure hope this isn't some cruel joke Mother Nature is playing on us.

Im gonna burst your bubble right away. There WILL BE one last "snow storm" before the end of March. Like there is, every. single. year. I remember on car forums, people asking every year "summer tires yet?"

Don't care if a bubble bursts. I'm out NOW, taking a coffee break, more later!

I put my bikes on lift and battery inside on tenders just before the crazy Freeze week-end of Feb 13 when it hit -24 . I changed the oils, filters and fluids early Feb when we had the nice week-end, and now they ready again for the road so this is the shortest storage for my bikes, like 2-3 weeks.

Got one ready Yesterday morning just popped the battery in and off the stand, the other possibly tonight or tomorrow or may be the week-end.

Rode into work yesterday and today. This year was the first I ever rode in January and February to work, not 1 day but a few days in both months.

Awesome winter it was....we may catch some cold ones maybe in end of March or April but hey it's Spring out there now! Weather Network has forecast May like temps for March in Toronto.. lets hope they're right on this one.

Got my gloves in this afternoon and I immediately fired up the bike for my first ever ride!

For the first 20-30 minutes I just rode around my neighbourhood familiarizing myself with the clutch's engagement point and how the bike feels to brake/turn, etc. Then I headed out to the back roads and got more and more comfortable riding. Long story short, I still have goosebumps 2.5 hours later. Rode until the low fuel warning came on, got lost in the boonies, my phone battery died, then I eventually found my way to Forks of Credit and ran into a friend who also rides - total coincidence! Just an all around awesome day!!

Can't wait for the next one.

Took her out for a spin, amazing weather but some roads were slushy so shes dirty now :( Saturday is looking ride-able as well

Just got back in from a ~1hr ride. Lots of salt/grit in spots. Have to take it easy. Nice to get back on the bike though.

Rode to work yesterday, Rode Sunday as well. Bike is now away as i sent the ECU to be flashed.

Oh, don't worry, you're apt to be right...but the way the long term forecast looks, I'm left wondering. I still remember spring 4 years ago when I was installing our inground pool, standing in the hole in the backyard in MAY (!!) getting snowed on.

Regardless, a little dusting or something, so long as they don't go overboard and start dumping salt again, meh...it is what it is. ;)

That's been my attitude all winter!
