Interesting, so i looked it up.

“Fail to Surrender Insurance Card” is the charge and is apparently dropped quite frequently if you show up to court with documents proving you coverage during the stop.

Did you go to court?

FWIW Have heard that if you show up at the station/detachment that the fail to produce ticket is issued from within a day or so and show your paperwork often they will toss the ticket,be polite it helps...

That works sometimes and other times explicitly does not as they want court time (easy money). At one point long ago, I slipped up and was carrying an expired pink slip during an interaction with a cop. I faxed him the new slip within 48 hours and the whole thing went away.
