Soundbar vs Home Theatre

OK so I got my Paradigm Monitor 7 v 7s and they look like beasts. My HTIB receiver was reasonably useless for them so off I went out and got an Onkyo TX-NR616 from BestBuy which I price matched with Visions.ca. Got a $700 receiver for $410, and yes, I know the MSRP is inflated but at least I paid near or below US prices for this. Also got the protection plan with the receiver as I know it has a few unfavourable reviews but the features cannot be beaten at this price point. My source for the Paradigm floor speakers can hook me up with a discounted Paradigm centre speaker so that's next on the list and eventually I may spring for the paradigm surrounds but this is going to be pricey if I do that.

Also, if any of you would be interested in some high end (reasonably) speakers, the guy I bought mine off has one set of Paradigm Monitor 9 series 7 speakers for $799. That's around half price and I think he will ship them for $75. If you read reviews you'll see these come across very favourably. PM me for details. These are legit speakers, you'll get an invoice for them for warranty purposes and Paradigm has a 5y warranty on their speakers. You won't see any deal in Futureshop that matches this, I know as I was there yesterday for their VIP event.

Need to hook things up this weekend and see how they do.
