something that ****** me off!!!

The other day some ******* in a gold Mercedes refused to let me merge onto the 427 from the 407. Then he added further insult by giving me the finger and mouthing "**** you" to me. I was like, WTF?!

Know what else pisses me off? I let people in all the time on the highway. No one ever puts their hand up to say thanks anymore. I always say thanks whether I'm on the bike or in the truck. And even if I'm not 100% sure that they intended to let me in. It's just common courtesy to acknowledge someone else for letting you in, but so many people have forgotten what courtesy is and how to demonstrate it.

This is Toronto, lol, everybody is rude

I own a Mercedes and a Sunfire, I have to remember what car I'm in to decide whether to be a dick or not.

Good one!
Next time I get in my Bmw I gotta remember to be a prick.
When I get on my Gixxer, I gotta remember to be a squid.

Good ol' GTAM

I'm from Toronto. I grew up here and spent 17 of my 21 driving years here. The rudeness is a phenomenon that has grown over time. People were, at one time, more polite and civil with each other on the roads.

Traffic wasn't as bad back then. Gas was also cheaper.

I have to agree, even 5yrs ago ppl used to wave if u were cut off. Its just that ppl are rude and when u do it to others, it goes full circle, it spreads out to everyone and comes back to u.

Thats why I need long country rides sometimes, it gives me a breather from this hell-hole

It's mainly the Asian (I'm Asian) kids whose parents buy them cars. I know only one that has a Porsche and a BMW that is not a dick; the rest of them are complete ******** on the road.

I've yet to see an ******* Ferrari, Lambo, Lotus, or other exotic cars though lol. I did once see two Ferrari's cut each other off over and over again...it was nice to watch =D, pretty sure they were friends.

I'm asian and I partly agree with you. There are many asian kids that are spoiled rotten with their nice souped up cars that their parents bought BUT there are also many people in the woodbridge and richmond hill area which I know that their parents buy them a nice car for their 16th birthday that drive like d**ks. Every time I head home to Richmond Hill, I always see at least one person (mostly young drivers) driving nice cars blasting down the 40/50 street running the stop signs. Most of the time it is during the lunch hour or right after school when I see this.
At the same time, although there are a lot of young drivers driving like d**ks, there are also those middle aged people that drive recklessly because they drive a nice car.

rich parents of ALL ethnicities buy their kids expensive things.

Yea my aunt and uncle payed the ultimate price for making that mistake:( My cousin 19 years old at that time was driving his 17 year old brothers Corvette and rapped it around a tree. I believe after a night of drinking, thankfully after dropping his girl friend off, and not taking anyone else out with him.

What i always find amusing are those leaving in their cars after work, presumably going home.

They go blazing out of parking lots, down streets, up streets, as if they are all in a race. And at the next block its dead traffic!!! So why the heck do you have to go blazing out of parking areas just to hit traffic! You can actually hear the roar of the engines when they just stomped on the gas leaving a parking lot. Come on!! you're in a parking lot - calm down.

And the kicker is the real aggressive folks. Cutting each other off, weaving around people, all to get 2 cars lengths ahead.

I have no sympathy for the fender benders in traffic that i see occasionally on my walk home from work.

Ha ha - bingo!! Come to sheppard and Vic park area to see this happen on consumers road!!

It's not their fault, not anyone's fault for that matter, the city is BIG, our lifestyles have changed. You live in Scarborough and work in Mississauga, you know the commute is over an hour and you have to rush home to feed the kids, relax etc...

It's a dilemma that unfortunately we're in and hard to get out.

I see the frustration on the road all day long.

Well, it's not going to stop me from sticking my paw up to say thanks even though 99% of the drivers on our roads are **********. ;)

Good for you

Doesn't give anyone permission to be an ***hole on the road though. And it IS your fault if you live Scarborough and work in Mississauga.

I didn't grow up around here so this idea of a 1+ hr commute in the morning is still foreign to me. I'll move before I sit in traffic more than that as a regular thing and if I can't move, I'll consider other employment options (working from home, etc.)

Try smiling and blowing a kiss next time... ****s them up... they don't know how to take it...

I find when you drive a nasty looking vehicle you are less likely to have people cut you off (doesn't stop everyone though).

Yep this is why I like my older car.... I am gonna get where I need to get... your choice if you wanna fight me or not... at least I dont care if I get another dent.... do you?!? Usually when people realize your serious they back off a bit... but you really got to force them.

1. Buy crappy car (Sunfire was mentioned so that's already checked off).
2. Buy dash cam and install on dash.
3. Ram that ***** when she cuts you off.
4. Use video evidence to prove fault is not on you.
5. ????
6. Profit. Well, not really but that dumb *****'s insurance will go up a little. That'll teach her. But more than likely it'll actually be your fault and you'll get screwed, lol.

Sadly, it's not just on the roads :( In my place of work and dealings with the public, I have seen the change over the past 13 years. There's days I totally hate people by the time my shift is done.

In general I find people have no consideration for others, no manners...and NO PATIENCE. They make me insane some days. People try to pull this crap on us at work constantly: "I've been waiting here half an hour! No one is helping me....blah, blah, blah....!" Really? REALLY? That's funny, 'cause I have a computer generated time slip here that says you waited all of TWO minutes before I approached you. So now you sit here and lie to me, act rude and (sometimes) yell at me.....for what? WTF people? Seriously, if I was standing around with my thumb up my butt doing nothing I could see people being upset regarding slow service...but when we're all running around, we're working hard and it's busy, what gives? 200+ patrons, only 3-6 staff on the floor (depending on the day and time) and no one waiting more than 10 minutes (usually!)....personally I'd say we're doing a hell of a job. You'd never know it the way some of them talk to/treat us though...

Same with the morons that go into a busy, lined up Tim Hortons and get into a huff when it takes 5 minutes to get to the front of the line. Get real people! If you're that impatient, make your own damn coffee...and while you're at it.....STAY HOME. The rest of us don't want to deal with you. My 10yr old has better manners than you.

Can you tell this is a hot topic with me? :laughing8:

people are more stressed nowadays, we have less time and more stress to get done whatever is required, and driving is the one thing we still have a little control over that allows us to vent...so yeah, people will do what they want...too many people nowadays feeling entitled to what someone else has and treat it that way...

I'm still trying to figure out how that expression "thumb in your butt" comes into play

See? You guys never disappoint me! I knew at least one of you would jump on that :)
