Someone Give This Cop A Medal!!!

The penalties given to those other cops are not enough. It just goes to showcase the blue line further.

That one piece of **** cop pulled the guy over and gave him a bs red light ticket? That should be grounds for outright dismissal. You can't be in a position of such authority and just get slapped on the wrist for abusing it.

Civilian oversight and actual authority over police matters needs to be rewritten.

He did it while the other cop was in a marked cruiser.

Exactly, it's even worse. He knowingly abused his authority to satisfy his own personal vendetta. The piece of **** should be fired on the spot. So should the drunk driving cop, and any other cop who was supporting him. Clean that **** up.

I've been breathalyzed at least 6 times (passed every one) but they look at you like a peice of **** if they stop you leaving a bar or think that they smell alcohol. There is no courtesy at all. A badge is not a license to drink and drive and the laws should apply to EVERYONE. Good for you PC Vanderburgh for standing up for what is right.

Poor guy was just a rook, he did not know any better. Sucks now that he will be stuck in traffic services for the next 10+ years.

Let's hope that's the worst of it and he doesn't pay a stiffer price due to lack of support in an emergency situation (read: no one backs him up when **** gets real)...

Goes to show you how corrupt this union of cops and government workers are.

I think he knew what he was doing. I don't think he knew how much flak he'd take for it though.

Good on him, we need more like him.

+1 to this.

I feel bad for that cop. He did the right thing and as a result, he'll be black balled for the rest of his life.

I think he may have had an idea, especially once his partner stopped co-operating. I think PC Vanderburgh is quite brave. Kudo's to him.

Bwahahahaha...so lemme get this straight, they went to this dudes house after someone wrote down his license plate because he was "driving erratically"...no mention of pulling him over in his car...i can see his defense now "your honour, i was in my house having a few beers when...", yup, there goes the DUI charge...what a waste of tax payers money...i would have protested too because my partner wanting to set an example was not seeing this whole thing through realizing that charge will be tossed...

as for the retaliation strikes on this guy, uncalled for, just retarded what the popo are doing here...calling him a rat, and then i read this"

“Constable Khawaja is purported to have stated on more than one occasion that evening to different informants that he wanted nothing to do with the arrest of a fellow police officer,” Reinhardt wrote.

so they had informants on this guy...some of which will be other fellow police offices that this guy has bragged to...year, that's like calling the kettle black...cops can be some of the dumbest retards at times...mind you though, i base this on a star article which still eaves lots of questions unanswered...

+1. Takes a lotta balls to stand your ground and do what's right when your own partner doesn't even have your back. This guy deserves a promotion.

Can't believe the cop he pulled over is still on active duty....and probably pulling over others for drunk driving...how ironic.

cops get busted by cops more often than is reported, this one just happened to make the news...the article misses some pertinent information, but i think it was a big waste of time...

This just shows what's really going on in the police dept.
It's the biggest corrupt gang in the world.
The "rat" as they call him, is one of the few with integrity.

I think they need to re-direct some of the huge budget they squander each year and purchase Go-Pro cams for all cops, 24/7 mandatory recording.

I did a job for a costumer who was a cop for a very short period of time. He showed me his police grad photos and pictures of him in uniform with other rookies and what not. He told me he quit in 6 months because the two faceness and blatant braking of laws the other high ranked cops around him made him sick. I won't repeat what he told me for his sake but but it was right up to threats of beatings and making lives hell for other cops if they "rat" on other cops. It was unbelievable but I still wasn't that surprised.

This is my signature

When I was in my 20's, I worked in a bar in CabbageTown. One night we had a Johnny Cash impersonator, who's dayjob was a uniform with the 52 division.

We had about a dozen off duty cops in the place, which doesn't sound bad, but they were all completely wasted. One cop kept going into the bathroom with his drink to scream at his wife on his cell phone. This wouldn't have been a problem, except that there were no drinks permitted in the washrooms (liquor license). When the bouncer tried to reason with him for the 5th or 6th time, the cop continued to ignore him.. so he grabbed the guys beer off the counter and brought it back out into the licensed area, and put it on a ledge near the washroom. He also stood there so no one would mess with the guys drink.

A couple minutes later the cop comes out of the washroom, done screaming at his wife now, and jumps the bouncer. Fists flying, the cops dogpile the bouncer and he gets pretty messed up before they finally all get off of him. Then they proceed to intimidate the manager before sending the guy who jumped the bouncer on his way. He was soo drunk he was slurring and couldn't walk straight. A couple of them walked him to his F250, which he hopped into and drove away. Presumably to head home and continue his argument with his wife in person.

These are the people we are supposed to trust and expect protection from?
