Soccer team banned from tournament because not enough Indians on team.

Apples and oranges. There is no debate that there is a difference in average athleticism between men and women. Not enough women means an unfair advantage for one team, the games are cancelled due to a lack of level playing field.

Not having enough players of Indian descent hardly gives that team an advantage. Play on.

that depends, perhaps the team was stacked with Jamicans, I hear they run fast.

Why would there be a problem if someone wanted to go to school within their own group? It's a double standard, that's the point he's trying to make.

Caucasian people segregating themselves is viewed intirely different than other groups segregating themselves.

AGAIN. the brownies didn't say the league is not open to anyone, just too many Sanjays sick that day and they had to call in the Jameses. And I say good on James joining an Indo Soccer league instead of the KKK Knights.

If you read the article it says the team even changed their name from Punjab Tigers to B.C. Tigers. So if they don't wanna be a part of the INDO league knowing their rules, form or join another with their team.

So just a little bit of segregation is acceptable?

I played (soccer) in a rec league where the rules stated that you had to be * Born from said country, *Married to someone born from said country *Parents/grandparents born from said country.

It was strictly a rec league, lot of fun, and a great sense of "community". Some of the on-field battles created off-the-field-battles with the parents and families. it was too funny if you didnt take it seriously.

I lasted two seasons playing football in Canada. Back home we played for the love of the game....alas even kids sports are being taken too seriously. Sad really.

I think the parents of the team shouldn't care "what message is being sent to their kids" and instead teach their kids how to handle the situation since the event has already occurred.

Much like riding a motorcycle on the dangerous streets of Toronto (stupid cagers) you've just gotta shrug it off.

Am I the only one who thought this? Quit bitching and complaining, what do you hope to accomplish? Pick up and move on.
