rode in to oshawa today (about 40 min ride) in leather jacket.. would've worn something else if I had it. Stopped by GP on the way home though.. some nice duc's in the parking lot.

Too hot even for mesh today. Wore it on the ride in this morning, squiddied my way home.

Speaking of mesh - I had mesh jacket couple of seasons ago and I found that I get hotter and dehydrated really fast in it.
No such porblem with leathers - regular or perforated.

Traditional, same as always: denim, desert boots, a barbour, or an 6oz-linen bush jacket in extreme heat like this.

As long as the sun is not on my skin, the heat isn't a problem. When you look at what people actually wear in hot places around the world, it's loose fitting and fully covered.

I rode Ajax to Port Colborne and back yesterday (did a skydive in Burnaby). Wore my boots, leather jacket and gauntlets (on the bike, not the dive). It wasn't too bad on the backroads but all the major highways were brutal hot. But I made it home without any road rash and I'd rather sweat than have rash.

It comes down to individual choice.

The sweat theory i always find interesting, I don't think some actually realise that they are putting themselves at more risk due to heat exhaustion.

Me too, full gear (leather jacket and over pants) from sauga to St. Jacobs and back.

I'm with you on this one!!!

I rode full gear so far all week, I don't find it overly hot...add another 10-15 degrees I may change my tune, but this is summer!

Rode yesterday in leather jacket and denim, it was rough, had to stop a couple times for water, and made sure i took my electrolytes.

*edit*I was regretting it the whole time, until i hit an oil patch on a turn and almost dumped it...then literally a minutes later, some one who decided to slam their brakes without a functioning brake light or using their turn signals. The whole bike wobbled left to right as a i just swerved past his rear bumper. i was doing 60 on the needle....scared the crap out of me and reminded me why atgatt

I was fully geared in yesterday. The only time it was a problem was for the half hour I was pulled over by the OPP on the 407...lol. At least I was able to stop somewhat in the shade.

I take the sleeves off of my jacket in this heat when going to work. On a tour, I would keep the sleeves on, just to protect from the sun, and have a nice bladder full of ice and water in my back pouch.

I don't ride in the dark, isn't that when the werewolves come out?

I love riding in the dark night. Less idiot cagers on the road and a lot cooler. Kinda sucks I have been working nights and can't really enjoy the nights.
I did however get home last night at 11pm, fired up the bike and went cruising for an hour.
Much better than this afternoon when I met up with the gf for lunch. I thought I was going to pass out at stop lights lol. I was wearing full gear lol dainese textile jacket helmet jeans and gloves. Damn it was hot.
Its like I had 2 showers in sweat on the way home:lmao:

LMAO... I think that'll also depend on how/where you ride. If you're in the downtown core, moving at < 30km/h and in (what feels like) 40 deg. C, with full leathers on, then there's probably a chance of heat exhaustion.

In almost any other conditions, if you're riding at any speed you'll be fine (guess it depends on your gear, but almost every jacket has perforations or vents). Also, if you're hydrated the risk of exhaustion is relatively low.
