snell helmets lacking sun shield

long story.......feel free to skip it
my corner speed and sphincter scrunching
had moved in diametrically opposed directions last few years

chalked it up to getting on in years
half way through this past summer I got some new scrip shades - non polarized
and stopped using the sunshade on the Nolan helmet ~ 4 years old
also ditched the pinlock

yeah I'm still old-ish
but the chicken strips got noticeably narrower
couldn't see where the eff I was going with that sunshade and the pinlock

a good pair of sunglasses if cared for last longer than that
and I find the optics on the drop down shades to be terrible
I wear glasses a lot of the time, so dragging around two pairs isn't always ideal.

I agree most drop-down visors aren't great, and I'd add that many don't drop low enough and leave an annoying bright gap at the bottom to @Jayell 's comment about them being insufficiently dark.

But I love the drop-down visors in my Shark Spartan. Shark is known for their excellent optics and extremely thick (and expensive!) shields, and the sun visor in the Spartan is no exception. It's nicely dark, and drops below the edge of my vision. It's a shame Canadian distribution has been so poor for the brand, as they make excellent stuff.

Of course, being primarily European, there's not a Snell certification anywhere But being heavily involved in GP racing, Shark was the first to meet the new FIM standard (and the only one to meet the initial deadline), so they can make decent stuff.
