Slip-on exhaust link pipe….tight fit.

Any tips on installing a link pipe onto a header pipe? I normally use anti-seize, but this one is a tight fit. Wondering if I should use grease of some kind?

Help!

I’m willing to try anything at this point….it’s close, but not loose enough to get it all the way on and reposition if needed

Which brand? Maybe contact them to see if you got the wrong part?
Akrapovic. There are 2 link pipes (it’s a Triumph Scrambler). The other is easier…so probably the right part. It’s also awkward to work with.

Going to try again, but I’ve also ordered a cheap expander that should work on the flanged end and do the trick.

Do you really mean on the FLANGED end? Sample below. Or do you mean on the female end? An expander won't work on the flanged end.

Female end. It’s the mid-pipe connection.

Heat might work too….it had been stored in the cold basement for months and only brought out yesterday to install. But figured I would pick up an expander just in case.
