They're light, comfortable, easy to slip on and slip off, winners in my books. Bonus points for cheap. I wear them daily, usually something in black.
I've grown up in skate shoes, still wear them when I'm not at work.
Nothing like a good pair of skate shoes, slip on/off, built to last and you can everything in them.
I'll never stop, to me casual shoes = skate shoes.
This is fantastic. Totally chuffed about the footwear situation going forward. Even saw some nice boot style. Very classy if I may be so bold. Just need a pair of sunglasses to sneak into mall skate shop 'cause I ain't going to Royal D that's for damn sure. Thanx everybody.

Lol, no one's gonna judge. Most of the West 49 guys at Vaughan Mills are old(er)
Skate shoes on grown men...no.
how's a skate shoe really any different to sneakers...other than branding? When I was a kid.....
Just remember some brands will fit you and others won't. Best thing you can do is go to a store and try on a bunch. I LOVE DC shoes cause they're wider and give my big feet some room. Etnies and my feet don't get along.
Ain't that the truth. I wouldn't buy any clothes/shoes online unless familiar with the company eg Eddie Bauer. If I recall, don't DC shoes have oversize logo? That would never do
I bought mine at a bike shop in Milton I deal with (not Mill Town). Not much stock there but they order in whatever I want. Try The Compound on Rymal first.
Right
Gist of thread is accidental discovery of better shoe. Not previously on radar. Will 54yr. old man wearing skater shoes look gay without knowing it? Is ignorance bliss?
At 54 you should no longer give a ***** what others think.
