So a 5g water jug is about 45 lbs. Two of them are decent for a farmers carry excerise. I know one martial arts gym I went to made Chi Ishi weight trainers from wooden handles with cast concrete weights on the end too. There’s probably instructions on the web on how to make them.
More chores are being completed.
- pool open, gardens planted by May long weekend
- overhauled an industrial sewing machine, 2 rototillers, chain saw and new bearings in the pool pump
- enjoying coffee on the deck EVERY morning, Nightcap on the deck EVERY evening.
- loving the time my wife and I are getting back from the commute to work
- loving WFH. 5 second walk to the office, simplified dresscode of shorts and a teeshirt. I just ran network cable and WIFI hub the tiki bar in my yard, it's my new summer office.
- was loving the empty roads
Not loving:
- Closed US border. My boat is on the hard in NY state until the border opens.
- Watching drivers re-learn driving cars. It feels like a G1 convention is going on in my town.
- Sold out greenhouses. According to my local fave greenhouse lady "Annuals and Vegetables are the new toilet paper". Greenhouses are potting whatever seedlings they have in trays to single 4" pots. Thankfully I bought everything early -- tomato seedlings were selling at $1.50 in 6 pack seed trays 2 weeks ago, today they are $3-4 per seedling if you can find them.
Kids are learning way faster than when they were in school Well, one doesn't start school for a few years but her brother in JK is teaching her the alphabet and counting. They both get super excited as she is making progress.

we hit up a usually large garden centre this past weekend.....a very sad sight. Most benches were empty and what they had was at higher prices. We still bought a few things as I want them to survive in these hard times. I did get an Asian pitcher plant and a stagshorn fern though which I’ve always wanted.
