Shoutout to the 2 riders who helped me out at 404/Finch last night

Why would they care if you're sitting on the bike while pumping gas? I do it all the time, I didn't know it was an issue.

Because you could loose your balance and fall with a live pump on or you could spill gas on yourself or your engine or whatever. Just get off the flippin bike and stretch, what's it going to hurt. Seriously I probably have the smallest tank on a bike and I've never found the need to get that few extra millimeters in there so I can go those few extra meters.

There is nothing illegal about straddling your bike and putting fuel in. Just make sure that the first thing you do is put your kickstand down and the second is remove your helmet for the security camera. If you get treated poorly get the customer service number and call in a complaint or ask about their policy.
Post the names of the gas stations that don't like bikes. Most of us have cars, trucks, boats (yep got alotta gas drinking toys) as well as bikes, so boycott. Make it known to everyone.

Please do this so that I can specifically go to those from now on.

When I questioned one of the attendants about it he said it was due to static electricity, you can't be sitting in/on a vehicle while refueling it??

an attendant did the same thing cut me off and then when i got off and filled it and went in to pay he lectured me for 10 minutes

It's only static danger when you're wearing your McDonald's uniform (polyester is bad for static). What is wrong with these attendants?

I always sit on my bike with the kickstand down, and I've never had a problem with the attendants. If I ever did, that's one gas station that wouldn't get my $10.00 every time I filled up LOL :D!

i've never had a prob with any gas station not letting me fill my bike, and I sit on it every time.

I have yet to be told this by an attendant.

Ive had the cashier shut the pump down on me half way through filling because my wife was sitting on her bike while I was filling it for her. Mississisauga rd and south service, next to Tim hortons.

First of all, you stood there and let someone lecture you?

Secondly, I always get off the bike and always will. I don't know if it's illegal per se but it's against policy as much for safety as it is for theft. They feel someone could steal gas a little quicker if they stay on the bike.

I fill up on the bike often, visor down. Never been an issue. Yet.
lol. Speaking of visor down... I went to the bank machine to take out some money and it had a sign on it "deposits only" :( I totally forgot I was wearing my helmet and walked into the bank to see if they could do a withdrawal (I'm with ING so a lot of places won't let the teller do a transaction for you). They triggered the security system where it locked me inside and we had to wait for the police to arrive to unlock it :(

Moral of the story, don't wear your helmet into a bank :(
