Steroids give you lots and lots and lots of pimples.

The only way I would condone usage was if there was a governing body that tests All of them and usage was strictly limited to synthetic testosterone. Their testosterone levels would have to be tested frequently to ensure they were within a Pre-determined range.

The usage would provide a more level playing field in terms of performance fatigue and rehabilitation.

Some of you sound like an after school special. Just waiting for someone to mention the dangers of their pee pee falling off.

really, would steroids make you a better golfer ?
or race car driver ?

except acid.. then i would THINK ik was good.

Better golfer? Aside from LASIK eye surgery which is absolutely performance enhancing. Better than 40-40 vision. There are synthetic hormones such as Nandrolone and Stanozolol that are widely used by professional and amateur Golfers by providing not only muscle stamina, but also to assist in lubricating their joints.

So many stigmas and biases.

We all have our heroes. Yet we often turn a blind eye.

So the base line for all professional athletes is some level of steroid usage? So everybody choosing to play and live clean is effectively 2nd tier? Nice.

Professional athletes will not stop using PED's. In terms of why I would condone strict, monitored administration of testosterone. When you understand what testosterone does and the overall benefits if provides, perhaps then you'll understand.

This debate is how professional, full-time athletes would compete against each other based on two scenarios:

1) If performance enhancing drugs are NOT allowed, therefore leading to unfair competition when some of them are caught using them, and others who lost are assumingly not using them, OR

2) If performance enhancing drugs ARE all allowed, therefore they would ALL probably use them, and the "competitive advantage" afforded by them would be lost - which could arguably have us witnessing athletes that win based on only their skill, dedication, training & fitness levels, compared to each other (as it's supposed to be)

The UCI turns a blind eye to drug use behind closed doors while publicly (lip service) denouncing them. According to the former head, it's the fans fault there's PED use in cycling. He was quoted as saying they want to se a 40 kmh Tour, not a 24 kmh Tour, and that's what they have.
