Shopping for a new BBQ...Need input...

If there is a small delay in food being ready because of the slightly smaller cooking surface, so be it.
Not acceptable. On time delivery or riot!!!!! 😫

You are no longer invited to the party. Problem solved.
Nonsense, who uninvites Evo?

Better chance of aliens landing.

Same experience with my Weber.

I'd bet there is something wrong with the tuning,

Hot spots almost always due to obstructions or tuning - they should be cleaned and tuned every few years. Spiders, corrosion, water in gas supply can all cause a BBQ to go out of tune.

Each valve has a jet to enter fuel to the burner, each burner has an air mixture -- like a carb on a bike the tiniest obstruction to jets and fuel passages causes problems. Tuneup is simple, takes about 20 minutes. Pop out the burners, clean intake screens or burner holes (replace if cracked or heavily corroded). With the burners out, remove the gas jets from the backside of the valves with a 3/8" socket. Make sure they are clear, blow compressed air thru the manifold with all valves open then reinstall jets. One by one install burners, adjusting the air intake just until the yellow flame is blue.
I will look at it but it has been a POS from new. My friends is the same way just bad design from what I can tell. I am waiting for it to die so I can replace it but it is still working after 15 years outside with no cover i did have to replace a lower pan at one point.

Weber has been good to me, genesis I think. All 3 burner tubes disintegrated, well past warranty. Weber sent me new ones free of charge no questions asked.

I believe the same company makes multiple BBQ product lines.

Back when I enjoyed golfing, I cracked a drive on a longest drive hole in a tournament.
I won this Viking Professional BBQ.
It's gotta be over 30yrs old now, and other than a corroded wire on the starter, it's been perfect. Never found a cover to fit it, so it's been exposed to all sorts of weather every day for over 3 decades.
Cost for one then was >$10k.....likely $15k now.
Baller bbq I'd never pay for, but happy to own one.

And a Weber Q small thingy I use more often.

Viking would be an outstanding grill. We went through several higher end grills , we grill 3-4 times a week yr round .
I think I would only buy stainless grills now , I’ve seen too much rust and flaking on cast . NG is not as hot as propane, but give me enough time and I can burn anything

Wife bought a Ninja Air Fryer, we haven't used the BBQ since.

The guy formerly known as Mladin.
Wife bought an Air Fryer and she’s thinking of returning it.

She says it’s not for her. Go figure.

Wow. I have never walked into a store and bought something on impulse. I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Manager at HD in Mississauga gave me a good deal in a Weber Genesis E-330

$1799.99 regular price reduced to $1349.99 by head office and this manager gave me another $100 off the assembled floor model plus $70 off an overpriced BBQ cover.

It has a couple of scuffs on the side tables. But nothing I won't create myself. But I was also told that the customer service from Weber is great. I may test it.

It is a 3 burner plus searing with a CAST iron grilling surface. The cast iron provides a better cooking result but stainless last longer. I figured this cast iron will last long enough with my use as it is brand new.

I was initially thinking of a 4 burner but realistically we probably don't need it.

I have till Sunday to pick up and decide if I want to keep or return.

What do you guys think?

Keep the opinions coming.

$100 off is a deal, but not a killer deal, I'll bet you'll see them closer to $1000 in another 45 days.

You might look at competitive products. Genesis is a mid-eleven BBQ, that commands a premium price (Like a Sportster is to a Bolt or Rebel) -- they have great brand recognition and perform nicely, but they are not the best in the game. The most common issue you will read about is rusting out -- pan, lower frame, and burners are common rust-out areas in all mid-range BBQ's, especially those not made from stainless steel.

I'm partial to Napolean, mostly because of the friends and fam with both, the Napos have lasted longer and none have ever rusted out. The compatible Napo grille is a Rogue 425, you'll pick one of those up for under $1000 -- better BBQ, better warranty, better price, and if history says anything, will outlive a Weber by years.

Does Costco have any BBQs left? Their prices are usually unbeatable. We have a Weber stainless with 3 main burners, a sear zone burner and a side burner. My take…I wouldn’t change anything again except for maybe the side burner. It doesn’t go low enough for a gentle simmer. The stainless grids are fantastic, any cast grids I’ve had just rot away, but you can always buy them separately if you get a good deal on a cast version. The biggest thing for me is having the BBQ under a BBQ gazebo. I hardly ever have the cover on and the BBQ looks great and it’s quite a few years old now. It regularly gets up to 500f easily and I use that with home made pizza dough on a pizza stone in the BBQ and it’s the best pizza you’ll have.

The stainless steel on the main BBQ cart portion is pretty thin but it’s mainly decorative. I made the mistake of cleaning it with a scouring pad and scratching up the finish. There was a little rust evident and I got rid of that with barkeepers friend and a treatment with G36 gun cleaner and protector afterwards. No problem since.

The BBQ gazebo was pricey but worth it. Can cook year round rain or shine.

My mom bough one of the Weber Q series grill. It's a compact little thing, she uses it on the back deck. I thought it was a joke at first but it does very well, and it's just the 2 of them so it's perfect. But she also manages to cook more food on it.

They still had them last time I as in. Price was higher than he paid though. They seem to drop the price $100 at a time and normally they are gone at a few hundred below normal price.

Never knew pizza stones existed. Is there one that you recommend? Spouse has been suggesting a large pizza oven but I want to wait until we finish landscaping the back first.
Oh and us ballers have a Nexgrill and seems just as good as the weber we had at the last house (NG to propane required a new grill). Stays covered but still looks new in/out after 3yrs.

Does Mother's make a Grille Wax?

Broilking make one. Theirs is circular and I had one and it was great but it broke. I ended up getting a rectangular no-name one off Amazon and it’s been fine and fits on the grill better. The secret to using them is to preheat them thoroughly. I generally heat the area under the stone for a bit then cook the pizza with indirect heat.

Edit: I was looking at the fancy pizza ovens but couldn’t justify an expensive single use extra gizmo to store. The pizza stone is slower but works well if your BBQ is hot.

I've had a few decent grills over the years, the most disappointing was a Silver Giant -- lasted about 4 years and everything started failing.

I like the cast base designs, they don't rust out.
