Yep this really happened. And I obeyed because I was confused, not because I thought there was a good reason to.

I would imagine that a V-Strom would be a little difficult to 'shimmy', to say the least.

This was my thinking. I know they took those locking tabs off the pump handles because in winter people would lock the pump on and go back to sit in their warm car while the gas was flowing. They would get out and reach for the pump and SPARK...BOOM.
With all the synthetic clothing we wear and all the synthetic fabric in the car we're full of static electricity (which don't go good with gasoline).

A lot of people have stories of being told to get off the bike when filling. It's a stupid rule and most attendants ignore it. This guy might have been a newbie, or maybe his manager was around. If it ever happens to me I'll just go to the next station. No need for all the drama.

Most people know enough to not pour toxic flammable solvents near their nether regions.
Some need to be told.
 
Just a rant... let him go! But I'll tell you this - I cant wait to get off of my ****ing machine and stretch a little during fill ups! That would have ****** me off as well though.

This is exactly why I have stopped recommending this site to people. Cant hardly read more than a post or two without seeing this childish nonsense.
 
I was filling my bike and there was a woman there too filling her Honda 125 as well. Nice bike. She had it on the kickstand. Looked kind of sad as she paid and then rode off to the nearby Starbucks. I would have followed but I had to be someplace.
