SHAD or GIVI Luggage?

Not for sale quite yet, but i've been thinking about it for a few days. I think i'm over the speed part of riding, i just want to chill out, blast some tunes and enjoy puttering around. Let's be honest the XR is SPORT Touring.

I'll likely end up on a bagger because i still want to tour.
Whoa, that was short lived, sounds like you want an HD or Indian, or the ultimate couch Goldwing?

Cruiser riders, we welcome you either way, (unlike some BMW riders, we know, living on the west coast someplace in BC)

Yes it will likely come down to street glide vs chieftain. Hopefully I can find an Indian owner or dealer to demo. I know a few guys with street glides.

Had a Shad that would fit two helmets. It was a decent top box.
It meant that if I was running errands, the helmet, gloves, and jacket could fit in the top box, and I didn't have to wear it or carry it around.
There was a kit for it, that added a brake light and turn signals.

Not sure which company build the Suzuki branded boxes on the 2009 V-Strom, but they're not very good.

What have I done to you for you to want me to get divorced and kicked out of the house?
Is it because you haven’t tried the limoncello?

Fine I said it....I need the luggage space to run my home brew....
You can't have too much space. When I travelled solo with the Wing one saddle bag was filled with beer and ice.

I guess some rubbermaid action packers arn't an option? This is the daily driver box. I have a slightly bigger one that will hold a camp chair and the coffin for my uke on long trips. My security is a bungee cord but what is there to steel but warm beer and dirty socks.

Agreed! Totally RAD!!
Original plan was to do it up as a "survial ratbike" think Mad Max meets desert storm. Got to the desert storm part and then it fizzled.

SHAD for me. Givi is $$$$$$

I'm saving up to get this for the Z900 ^_^

hockey bags are cheap. I used to just fill one up and strap it on until some soft bags came with a project. Never let a lack of cash stand in the way of a MC trip.

@Evoex seriously? Going the cruiser route?
Even if you dont want insane speed, you'll miss the agility, good braking and advanced electronics

Iv ridden some baggers, you really have to plan your moves well ahead because they take longer to respond to inputs etc

I sometimes think about getting a middleweight adv bike, on the duke I open the throttle half way for 2 seconds and im terrified
feel like a middleweight ADV has enough power to go fast and have fun, but not terrifying, and come with a better seat and wind protection

or maybe im just spoiled and need to stop keeping up with the lightcycles

I’ll miss some things for sure, but this kinda riding doesn’t interest me anymore.
