Not cool, to be going around chopping heads off of cats.. However.....

Why do people feel its ok to let their cats roam around the streets without a leash ?

No-one in their right mind would open the door and let their dogs run free for the night, but if its a cat, its ok ??

my views on this are pretty straight forward.. if you dont want your cat beheaded, dont let it outside..

maybe this is a message to cat owners to stop doing this ? maybe its a local restraunteur saving some $$$..

can anyone actually convince me on how letting their cat run free all over the place is justified ?

I'd love to hear why its ok for some of you cat owners ( and i know theres some out there ) to let your animal roam free, ******** in gardens, killing birds, and leaving their ripped apart bodies all around for small kids to play with.

I will take a stab at it.
Because it's their pet and cats like to be free. Dogs can bite people and attack other dogs, cats do not do this.

cats rip open garbage, **** other cats, kill birds, **** in garden, fight other cats, howl in heat...scratch Kids, bite kids......etc...

Sorry, i dont think you wanting your cat to be free, warrants having the problems associated with it.

Not a cat owner but I like outdoor cats.

All the neighborhoods I've been in have had them and nobody ever had a problem.

Nowadays people are offended by anything.

Life should be interesting and unpredictable. I don't care if a cat is howling, cause usually I'm doing the very same thing :)

Sickening to say the least. I've been a cat guy for over twenty years and the thought of this is really disturbing. I'd say it's a male between the ages of 12-19, who is unsociable, doesn't have many friends and who doesn't have good parents who are are watching him enough. The scary thing is if this person isn't caught then it could eventually escalate.

First of all how do you know that these cats were pets maybe they were stray cats....so by you telling people to leave their cats inside probably won't solve the problem. And you talk about cats scratching kids well why are there unsupervised children outside anyways because I'm sure if the parent was around they would ensure that their child does not try and touch a random cat. And cats just don't go scratching or biting kids or people for fun or randomly it's only when they feel threatened. I'm a cat lover I have cats and this sickens me that there is someone doing this I hope someone takes his or her head off it's only fair. Let's not blame the cat owners or the cats for being outside there is only one person to blame and it is this sicko person who is doing this.

I think we found the culprit.......possible cat hater.. and this hasn't been in the news yet.... Hmmmmmmm

I'm an outdoor/indoor cat owner.
My cats 95% come in at night but I know that's what I do and not everyone does the same. The problem I have is people not having their cats fixed. That comes with a lot of that behavior that a lot of people hate about cats. However I believe that a cat needs to be outside as much as a dog needs to be walked and exercised. Both mine have their claws for their protection and never ever have I seen ANY cat come off as a threat to people as they just turn tail and run. The most miserible thing I see is poor critters just staring out the window of an apartment. Try walking a cat on a leash. I've seen it done but for most of them good luck. Yeah they hunt, so what? I get a nice little pile of dead mice at my door every other night before they come in and what's wrong with that? Very very rarely do they ever get a bird. In fact I think in the 13 years of one of my cats life I've seen him get a bird. He brought to to me and it flew away. The other one is not interested in them. So what's the problem? The problem in my neighbourhood isn't cats howling, its constant barking from the umpteen thousand dogs that are just left in backyards all day with no attention just barking and barking and barking..........

I agree in the city cats should be kept indoors or on a leash.

out in the country it's a different story, farm cats stay on the farm and take care of vermin, they don't really wander because they will stay where the (easy) food is. at the same time they can fall prey to predators that prey on farm animals, which is just a risk of being a cat on a farm. unless they're house cats in which they stay indoors.

im with you on the dogs as well.

Im not a cat hater, im an outdoor pet hater. I hate people that leave their pets outside.

Ive still yet to hear a valid excuse for letting your cat roam free around the neighbourhoods.

btw, I've actually been trying to convince the wife to get a cat for our kids.. they love them.

reminder to outdoor pet haters...that's where they came from, it's their natural habitat! we are the ones that locked them inside and tied leashes around their necks! of course they like the outdoors!

Sounds like a serial killer in the making. Craving for attention, start killing cats, then proceed with larger animals, then humans. A la Luka Magnotta.

I don't mind cats outside, they get rid of unwanted pests like rodents. That's why human domesticated them thousands of years ago, not because they are cuddly.

Im no expert but I'm quite sure the problem is not the cats....it's some sick psycho that gets off on this bs and is going to turn into the next Bernardo.

If it wasn't cats it'd be dogs or some other helpless animal. I hope they find this SOB before it escalates.
