September DUCATI Day Ride (DDR) ver 3.0 - PICK YOUR DATE

Great ride today! Thanks to everyone for organizing an awesome ride with some great roads. My only complaint is that I couldn't hear my Justin Bieber over all of the Termi exhausts. Hopefully we make it a regular occurrence. Thanks again & see you out there!

Looks like I missed out on a great ride today considering there was no rain like DDR 1 & 2. Hope we can squeeze 1 or 2 more DDR rides in before the end of the season. Hope everyone had fun and was safe.

Till next time,
Sam

Hey folks,

Thanks to all those who made it out and even bigger thanks to those who braved the colder weather in the morning while we made our way up North. It sure was a chilly ride, but once we reached our first "technical road" and then stopped off for lunch... we couldn't have asked for better weather. What a beautiful day!!

If I counted correctly, we had a total of 25 DUCATIs join us at some point or another throughout the day.

I would like to take this opportunity to send a special acknowledgement and 'thank you' to "Osiris" for taking over the lead position when my GPS crapped out on me. Having only seen the 'secret route' the day before he lead with a great pace for our large group of riders.

Unfortunately, we had a rider go down at this event in a mid-corner lowside; but with his nerves of steel, he dusted himself off and got back on for the ride. Very minimal damage to the naked monster, and now has some battle wounds and good story to tell..... also a great opportunity to upgrade to some nice aftermarket parts

We had our first 1198 SP and Multistrada 1100 S join us on this DDR and were a welcomed addition to the variety of DUCATIs we see at each event.

We were able to hit 2 of the 3 planned roads for the day. Needless to say the first "technical road" got mixed reviews; as most people generally like to ride at a 'spirited pace' opposed to navigating tight corners with 'adventurous' road conditions. The second "technical road" seemed to have put smiles back on everyone's faces (similar to the infamous road we ran in DDR ver 1.0). This is definitely the type of feedback we need as we continue to plan and host these DDR events in the future and choose the types of roads that make everyone go home tired and with huge smiles on their faces.

And now, finally for the pics (click on the image below to access the album).... enjoy

I'm not sure if there will be another DDR for 2011, as the weather is clearly getting cooler these days. Perhaps a quick impromptu event may pop up if there's another weekend in September or October with +25 degree weather. If not.... hope to see you all again next year for DDR ver 4.0 in 2012. Stay safe my friends.

Cheers,
Repooc

Great pics! Looks like I missed another great DDR ride! :(
Hopefully there will be one more DDR before the season is over.
I'd really love the opportunity to ride with and meet a bunch of other Ducatistas.

Great ride! I think I could spend hours on those roads!!!!

I can't believe how different it sounds riding in a group of Ducati's.............

Lots of good conversations as well!

Thanks Trystan for organizing....and thanks to Giovanni for kicking it up a notch on the sweepers from heaven!!

......'till the next one!

Like Ken on the Multistrada said, if you ever go down you want to 'do a Jacky' - no joke. I will happily have that term coined after me.

The plotted road was good but I was discussing with Giovanni earlier today whether we could fashion some kind of front wheel fender broom mechanism to sweep the corners clean upon entry.

Thanks again for everyone's concern and assistance. Very much looking forward to riding with you all again.

I guess we should have run a zamboni through in front of us!

Hey Repooc that was Multistrada 1200, and I count in the restaurant 30 Ducatis. Thank you again DUCATISTI for coming at DDR3 , special thank s to Repooc for help me again to organized this amazing ride, and orisis to help us for the route. Very sorry for Sammy and others can't make it, but DDR4 will be another surprise for you. I will put my 749 on the track , and I will found a Monster to continuing riding in the beautiful roads of Ontario.

Does anybody have an accurate record of how many km we covered? I figure it's in the 400-500 window but I forgot to check my odometer before leaving.

That was fun ! My buddy Greg had a blast too......... so happy that the get-off was relatively minor........ I look forward to seeing you all again ! Cheers, Les

400-500 is a safe bet. I could confirm once I get my bike back from Giovanni since I was close to my 12k service when we left. It'll be ready for Thursday but I won't be able to pick it up until the weekend.

Dan,

Good estimate. I logged 563km on my GPS (includes 49km prestart from Beaches area, T.O. to Brooklin Tim's). Rode home south on 400, east on 401, south to Queen & Woodbine. I'll let you do the math from there. Much enjoyed meeting & riding with you...look forward to the next.

Dan

Ciao Giovanni, sorry I couldnt be there for the ride. Last minute plans changed on me for DDR3. Hope to see you again before the end of the season and fingers are crossed for 1 more DDR ride. It would be nice to have a fall cruise and enjoy our company one last time before our machines go to sleep for the winter.

Sam

Hey Sam, don t worries the family come first! For this season DDR3 was the last ride, and I already start build my bike for the track days. For next season I will like organized track days , we will keep in touch for futures details.

Cheers
