Is it best to ask the seller to safety it b4 I buy it?

Only suggesting a 3rd option to get it home.

Alternative C, get the previous owner to deliver it and transfer papers and money after it is with you. Onus of insurance and plates would be on them, depending on how close points 1 and 2 are... depends on the PO tho.
I am a big fan of only going to Service Ontario once for this kinda stuff...

It’s one less headache for you and then you know it’s at least somewhat road worthy.

if safety isn’t in the price then I try to negotiate with the seller. I offer $100 deposit to cover the cost of safety and hold the bike for you to complete the deal. Never met someone who had an issue with this.

Totally agree. This seems the best of all 3 options (if of course the seller is ok driving it to my place)
