Saw the first one around here about a week and a half ago. Since then I've seen a handful of them. Definitely a sign that Spring is around the corner!

I usually just wait for my insurance renewal to come out of my bank account.

March 20th is the start of the season!

Although I did see a bike on my street today. At least the guy was wearing a helmet this time.
 
A bit early for them up here in Orangeville. Poor buggers would starve or freeze to death in a day or two. No food to be found because of the deep blanket of snow we have. It's a good sign they are starting to migrate back north though.

Edit: I have to retract my earlier comment. A robin landed on our deck railing yesterday afternoon. We have had a cardinal in our tree for a couple of weeks and I hope that noisy bugger finds anther tree in which to build his nest because it's right outside our bedroom window.

The farmers almanac , the other source of folklore , says spring is right around the corner and summer will be nice

I saw Canadian Geese a few weeks ago, thought it was weird, maybe they never left.
More recently I've heard more bird chatter/singing going on in the neighbourhood (i'm no a ravine lots of trees), must be a sign, and I spotted a cardinal as well.

Usually around Easter is when the weather starts to really change over. Not too far off.

Wife saw a cardinal this morning . Canada geese stopped going south from our area years ago , they just hand around and crap everywhere. Should harvest them to feed the homeless.

Canada Geese are all over the place in Milton...like @crankcall said, they don't leave anymore.

We have morning doves that visit us every year, and I saw them last week before that dumping...haven't seen them since though...yesterday and today were GORGEOUS!

I saw robins eating crab apples near Tony Rose arena yesterday. I put out some sunflower seeds today.

I vaguely remember some testing of this a number of years ago with the Canada Geese on Toronto Island. If I remember right, they were too full of things like mercury to be safely eaten more than once a year or so, so they started oiling the eggs instead. Not sure if that program is ongoing of if they've given up...
 
Nine years ago, and sorry for the commercial, but the guy is paid $30K for the work. Nice if you can get it.
 
I like the setup at the Honda HQ campus in Markham, they move a bunch of stuffed coyotes around the property. No geese.

We’re back there mid April. Apparently they will be putting a sealant or something on the parking lot in May. Curious to see how that will affect grip.
 
I spotted the first robin here in my neck of the woods close to a month ago. I'm guessing it's been a rough go for them.

I'm so ready for the weather to flip. Given how late it is in the month and winter is still holding on for dear life, I'm hoping we get one of the "lightswitch" springs - winter one day, and then boom, 15-18 degrees and nice.
