Got the seat back from Trim Tech. The seat looks good, only thing I am questioning is why they would leave the old staples and the old seat cover. I did not notice this until I got it home.
They left the old seat cover because taking out the old rusted staples is hella a lot of work, more work than just slamming in new staples with a pneumatic stapler. There is no air staple remover that I know of. It is sort of like reshingling over your old roof shingles.
1996 Honda Magna is a nice bike, 20 years old, so the foam will also be 20 years old. If you're ok with it then fine, but foam does degrade over time. Old foam will crumble and disintegrate into bits and powder, which is really messy and probably not good to inhale. New foam would need to be sculpted to be close to the old shape, and this takes time and a good eye.
