I went to a leaf game in the early 90's at the Gardens, saw them play Edmonton when Mactavish was still on the team (last player to not wear a helmet, I believe). I am pretty sure the nose-bleeds were about $30 at the time.
I remember thinking how sitting so far away from the ice meant I watched the TV screens more than the actual ice, and it would have made more sense for me to watch the game at home.
Did someone list football as one of the exciting sports to watch? I don't know about that... I have only ever watched the superbowl, and man is it ever boring. You have about 10 seconds of action and 5 minutes of down time, commercial breaks, etc..
Now-a-days I can only watch a game of anything if I have a horse in the race. During the World Cup I would go to parties with a bunch of buddies, everyone would throw $10 in the pot and they would randomly choose a name from a hat of a player who is scheduled to play. Whoever's player scores first gets the pot.
