Sandblasting wheels

Hi Guys and Gals,

Thinking of getting this done to my wheels over the winter. Does anyone know of a good shop that can do this? I am in the north west end of Toronto but will go anywhere in the GTA I suppose. Is this an expensive job?

Thank you in advance,
Joe

You should probably be calling it bead blasting, they use uniform shape and size glass beads to produce that finish, not sand.
Sand is what you would blast with on a stone building.

Try Manus Abrasives.

If you use sand to blast, you get silicosis and die. Don't use sand.
I don't know who 'they" are but I use many different types of media in my blast cabinet.
Glass Bead, crushed glass, aluminum oxide, crushed walnut shell, bicarbonate of soda, teeny tiny plastic beads, steel shot to name a few.
Different jobs call for different media.
Glass bead leaves a nice finish, hardens/peens the surface with minimal dimension change, but it's expensive to use and takes FOREVER.
I guess if the media you're using is glass bead, you'd call it bead blasting but the process is generally called "media blasting"
