Samsung doing something about distracted driving.

Good idea but hardly in the same realm of what the head unit is.

WOW! That app is getting some real crap reviews

It worked fine for me for years. The point is that a smart phone holder with this and speaker setting does not require bluetooth expense.

A little bit of levity, last month my friend was crossing the sidewalk with a red light for car , the car turning lightly clipped his waist, the driver did stop and assist, he was sorry
and said "I did not see you". My friend replied even when was in pain "I hope not ", he got an easy insurance claim since the driver actually drove him to the hospital.

BTW..Samsung isn't really doing anything about this. Right now, Samsung and Apple have a lot of cash, which makes them lawsuit fodder. It's only a matter of time before a huge lawsuit hits them in the US as the result of distracted driving. Half-assed stuff like this is about legal protection.

A friend of mine in the US designed a $8 device that blocks cell signals in a moving car. No one was interested.
It would be trivial to disable text and calls when a phone is moving through software.

In Floriduh, a man was arrested and fined $48,000 for driving with a cell phone jammer. There are no cell phone driving laws in Floriduh.

I've been using my motospeak for a couple years now. Combined with my Jabra Freeway I don't have to touch the phone to reply to an important message, or take a call.

I never had a problem with my iPhone connecting to my VW, my Note 3 sucks. It works as a phone, but driving directions/incoming texts etc only work when you are on the phone with someone. I don't know if it is a samsung or vw problem, but all of the things that samsung provides to minimize distracted driving don't help me at all.

VW problem. My note3 works fine with the Ford Sync system.
