Do you guys have Road side assistance for your bikes? I am with Canadian tire and realized they don't cover Bikes. Can't cancel since I was in middle of the membership period and get no refund. CAA is at around 130$ for mid level 200km tow membership.

I found couple of sites motolimo . com and some access road side assistance covering motorcycle's for 50 and 60$ per year respectively.

Since the start of season, I am doing a weekday ride within GTA and one week end ride 200-300 km long. Any thoughts on road side assistance? Thinking about motolimo 50$ vs CAA 130.
 
Go with CAA, that 200km tow limit is a lifesaver when needed. Also covers any other vehicle you may drive as it's cardholder dependant and not vehicle. CAA is super easy to deal with as well, truck not available? They'll reimburse you. Never had a driver check ID so you could use it for friends and family as well.

Motolimo is limited to two 50km tows per year, not very far. One tow beyond those limits will probably equal a CAA membership.
 
Check with your credit card company. They may have roadside assistance as part of their benefits.

CAA Plus covers bikes.

CAA Plus covers bikes... however the drivers that show up for a motorcycle call aren't always comfortable with securing them. This hasn't caused me any actual problems yet. Also the extra mileage and stuff you get with Plus is very useful
 
I have the CAA plus and it's the one that also gives a tow up to 320km. I think there's 3 or 4 other tows at 200km each.
I have used this 320km tow a few times to help out other riders who dropped their bikes on the road.

Always request a flat bed and there will be no issues strapping the bike down.

I have CAA plus and not only does it cover your car and motorcycle (and they don't have to be owned by you, as long as you're present, it can be anyone's vehicle), they also cover bicycles...there's also other perks, one of which is free international driver's licenses (which we used when we went to Spain in 2019)...and they cover you in the US through their affiliation with AAA...better peace of mind...

Rumor has it that AAA doesn't cover motorcycles in all States. Not sure how that would affect CAA coverage.
 
I actually tried calling AAA once while in the US, and the dispatcher was completely useless. I never managed to convince her that Secaucus, New Jersey existed
 
I blew my clutch when I was on the border of North Carolina and Virginia and called either CAA or AAA. They arranged for a tow on the spot and I didn't have to pay anything. I had it towed to a Uhaul rental shop about 100km away where I then rented a cube van and drove my bike home. So in this situation I didn't have to submit receipts. About a year later I was told that I could have saved my uhaul receipt and claimed some or all of that. Not sure how much of that is true, but that would have been nice considering the Uhaul was over $1000.
 
Be aware at the time of my renewal of CAA+(Apr21) the CAA agent said they will tow your vehicle but they will not take you along with the vehicle (Tow truck driver safety). They claim they will help you find other arrangements for your transportation. I expect this to change as COVID restrictions are lifted. As for towing in the states it varies with the AAA branch in that state. Broke down in Pennslvania three years ago and had to pay for my tow. They would not tow my bike unless you have coverage that covers RVs which would be CAA Premier.I was reimbursed by CAA when I returned but is was a bit of hit to my wallet. On my return I checked various other offices of AAA (New York, Michaigan, California, Pennslvania, Florida and the Carolinas and they won't tow your bike unless your coverage includes an RV. That is to say CAA Premier. Best to double check before you head south.
 
+1 for CAA+. Had it for years and saved my butt many times. Definitely not something you want to cheap out on.

Great service and fair price

They've gotten my work vehicle out of a ditch, brought me gas, unlocked my work van when left keys inside, boosted me, and towed me


Even used them when I travel to Florida and needed a boost and a tow

Zero complaints with service and worth every penny
